Yea sound deadening is a definite must on the rear deck as that tends to rattle once a sub box is added but not a necessity on the doors. It will improve the sound though if you did.

Great video. I have the 300s with the beats. Wish the back dash was not so muffled. Was gonna replace with some infinity kappas. The beats sub, I saw ppl swap the speaker out and stuffed a shallow mount sub in place so it looked factory still. Just the sub was bypassed with a mono amp. A processor makes me wonder the actual difference. Great video.

No the dash speakers are 3.5 inches. The front door & rear deck speakers are 6x9’s.

This might be a dumb question concerning the fact that you had SRT8 with a similar sound system. But everything in the newer models should be the same install process for the older ones right? I have a 2014 RT Charger and I'm thinking about replacing all the speakers in that car just because my rears already went out so why not. I just wanted to make sure if I'm following by this video it should be the same thing. The only thing I'm not doing is the audio processor just because they're a little more expensive than I want to spend right now.

These JBL’s get the job done and dont sound bad but I personally recommend or prefer Focal, Hertz, JL Audio and Infinity speakers. The JBL’s sound muddy in comparison to the other brands unless you have a sound processor or good EQ to be able to tune them accordingly.

Did you have to use load resistors? I heard some Dodge radios require a certain amount of resistance or the radio will shut down. I just bought a 2019 Charger Scat Pack and I'm copying your install except with JL C1 690tx in the rear deck and JL C2 690 in the front doors, with C2 3.5 dash speakers. Same 4 channel amp and DSR1. Do I need load resistors?

No you don’t need load resistors! However, I’d recommend going with the JL HD600/4 amp for the speaker setup you’re going with. That amp will power them nicely and Im sure you’ll be much happier.

I used the KENWOOD Excelon series 600-6DSP & 100-1 amps in conjunction with the AR Meastro in mine..I had to use resisters on the accessories side of the AR Meastro that went to Nav, Phone, and voice options over the factory radio..before adding them my factory radio kept shutting down..but after installing them everything worked great...

Nice video , I have a sony amp but i got the same set up as yours except for the digital sound processor, I like the sound so far, but wish for more bass so i wanna make my doors act as bass as well as the rear deck. However I have a question, how can you eliminate the rear deck from vibrating?? It’s been giving me a real hard time, kept sponges and other insulation but doesn’t seem to make it for me, any ideas? Your help would be appreciated bro

This setup was done to a friends car but thank you. As far as your rear deck, i recommend isolating where the vibration is coming from on the deck and find a way to add foam or sound deadening material in that area. Or you could dynamat your entire rear deck to reduce the amount of vibration.

Btw, does the head unit only support 2 ohms? Because the jbl gto the one you showed is at 3 ohms, one audio shop got my speakers hooked to the sony amp, however, the doors are playing full frequency but bass is a bit over powering them. So I’m really confused as the balance and fade is soo messed up, well except for the dash speakers. My question is if i used the pac bypass, will I be able to use them to their fullest potential (at 3ohms) ? Ps: it’s a Dodge Charger RT 2012 ( 6 speaker )

In addition, I need more clarification on whether the factory amp can support more than 6 speakers (thinking of removing the Sony amp and adding a 2 ohm 8” sub in the back deck) I just want to retain the factory look as much as possible. Otherwise, I’ll bypass the amp and keep two amps, one will be 4 channels, the other will be mono for the 8 inch sub woofer (for the designated cutout)

Best install instructions ive seen. Quick question im a total nube at this mopar life. So im tring to get my subs installed by a shop i have every thing (trying to hook up to stock system) im being told i need a line lvl converter which is not the problem but being to i have to buy a 300 one and that is the only one that will work with the stock alpine speakers. Is this true? And is there anyone you can suggest?

Thanks bro, but Im not sure which LOC they are recommending but a cheap one will work if you’re just adding subs. If you were doing a full sound system with a 4 channel aftermarket amp pushing the rest of your speakers then id say you may want to invest in a DSP which also acts as an LOC to get the best sound.

The old door speakers only play mid bass as it is crossed over through the factory amp to do so. The only way to get a full range sound out of the front door speakers is to run new speaker wires to them coming from an aftermarket amp. Just simply changing out your speakers in the car alone will not do that.

Because just changing out the speakers will not make it play a full range signal as the front door speakers only play mid bass frequencies which are tuned that way from the factory amp.

Depends on the type of speakers you choose to get and the recommended RMS Wattage it needs including at what Ohm rating that wattage is rated at

Its no reason to do so as the pac harness taps into all of that in one area. Unless you want to run all new speaker wires all the way to the speakers themselves in the door or dash then that will be the only reason to do so. However running speaker wires to the front door speakers is a true PITA which is why Id avoid it if its not necessary.

Im pretty sure it is but if you have a factory sub then make sure you check to see if the pac harness is compatible with your OEM setup.

Pull the carpeted covering in the trunk down and see if you see a connector where the sub goes tucked away? If you dont then its not wired for it.

Get rid of that Fosgate summing module and don't use the audio control lc7i summing module and get a Amp Pro 4 it's actually a p 4 - ch41 it bypasses the factory amp altogether and keeps all your factory chimes and uses your radio speaker outputs and sounds better than any of the ones I've heard so far I just put one in my wife's car and it sounds awesome and it's Plug and Play my wife's car is a 2018 Dodge Charger 392 Daytona being Pro 4 is made by pac

I personally have an Audison Bit ten D in my ride and it has way more parameters for adjusting than the fosgate one as well. Personally no processor sounds as good as the audison bit ten or bit one processors which are the ones I personally recommend. Only downfall with the audison processors is that you need a laptop to tune and adjust them as they are not bluetooth processors. That being said the fosgate one sounds pretty good as well once adjusted correctly and you still have all the chimes as well depending on how you wire it. The only advantage of using processors that bypass the factory amp is the fact that you get a clean non Pre-EQed signal to have as a base to tune off of. This is where the audison processors are awesome as they have a de-equalization function that flattens your signal for you before you start tuning. All in all, different processors are all good overall. Its all in what your preferences are and how in depth you want to go into tuning your car audio.

The factory sound system is set up like that so just changing the speakers alone will not change the crossover settings that are pre programmed through the OEM amplifier to only play the lower frequencies on the front doors. In order to get full range sound out of your front door speakers you will have to run them off of an aftermarket amplifier and bypass the OEM amp or did what I did and tap into the OEM amplified speaker wire signal for the LOC/Sound Processor. Hope this helps.

You don’t want the doors playing highs unless you like to take naps down there. Do you go to concerts or your living room and put your head say down low close to the floor to hear the music? No. Where are the subs in those places? On the floor. As the frequency goes up, the sound is more directional. That’s why you hear bass where’ve you stand, by highs are muffled off axis. The factory setup is great, but it could be improved big time. Front dash speakers especially. And it needs to get louder. But the frequency response is excellent.

It depends on your preferences but you can have your doors playing highs if you want to especially if you get custom door pods made to make them directional. That being said it all depends on what type of build you’re trying to achieve.

Depends on how you like to listen to your music and the quality you like out of your sound system. The HK sound system is a good system for those who arent true audiophiles and want a lot of output out of their car audio including those who dont care for all the extra bells and whistles but want better sound than the basic OEM system has to offer.

The best is extremely subjective to be honest! You can ask ten people and most will give you a different answer. What I suggest is go to a few audio shops and listen to a few different brand speakers they have on their demo boards and go from there. That being said demo boards are not the best reference to determine a specific sound but will give you a general idea of how the speaker will sound overall.

Yes! The base model comes with the factory Alpine system which is the same for this model/year charger. This setup works for all 2011 and up chargers.

You could search on ebay as there are plenty of people selling the 8.4 inch Uconnect that many have upgraded to. Also check the forums or ask around on the facebook group pages. I recommend the 11-14 dodge chargers group. Unless you want to get an aftermarket head unit, then there’s a kit that you can buy.

The front door and rear deck speakers are 6x9’s and the dash speakers are 3.5 inch. Between the 1:13 to the 6:50 minute mark in the video I went over all items being installed.

Yea you can as the crossovers essentially act as a bass blocker for those tweeters but they aren’t optimized for them so you may not get the full sound potential out of those tweeters

You right they do have different configurations however the process is the same of installing the speakers, amps and processor. The only thing that this video did not cover was the removal of the rear door panel which has the same 3.5 inch speaker the dash has for those who have the beats audio or harman kardon OEM sound system. The amp location and etc. are all the same. Not sure where you wasted your money at but this system build would work for all configurations except you’d need more parts to get it done. However, if you got lost during any part of your install by trying to follow this video, you could have reached out to me as many have and i would have been more than willing to help you out. Therefore, what do you think about just upgrading the speakers (fronts/ backs) without an amp. Just upgrading the speakers alone makes a big difference in sound however if you’re looking for more output and volume then you may want to consider going with aftermarket amps and speakers

Y dnt u use the pac pro amp 4-ch41 for this car ? Nd connect the processor between amp nd pac pro

Because the processor i have high level speaker inputs which means the wires going to the processor needs to come from the amplified side of the factory wiring. The pac ch41 bypasses the factory amp which means i wouldnt have been able to use the sound processor i already had.

Yes, the Uconnect is not affected at all with this type of upgrade.

Yes, however with a sound processor addition you’d want to keep the balance and fade centered and the equalizer flat and do all your sound adjustments through the processor.

Also when you add a sound system you add aftermarket amps so there’s never a reason to upgrade the factory amp in any vehicle

Yes, however you will need to have a stock amplified sound system.

Rinde R show well if you want more volume then you will need to add an aftermarket amplifier to your speakers however I’d recommend replacing the speakers to better ones that can handle more power if you’re going that route. But a DSP alone will definitely enhance your listening experience once tuned right even if you choose to keep the OEM speakers.

Depends on what brands you choose to go with but for quality amps and speakers for this type of setup you could be around $1500 at the very least

Yes you could however a sound processor is in fact a LOC that has additional features. So if you want those features then I highly suggest a sound processor. If not then a LOC is all you need but the wiring is the same process for a setup like this unless you choose to bypass the factory amp all together.

@@Srtfiedofficial was just wondering. I have a dsp in my Camaro. I just never did a charger before. Gonna use my clarion eq as an LOC. Gonna pull the signal from the dash speakers, being that they use a high frequency as apposed to the doors cuz they use a bass frequency. The rear deck is probably more ideal since they use a full range frequency. But that's a lot of damn wire to run coming from the eq. Good video though. I learned a great deal from it.
