While I have doubts about the show, I'll be watching it anyway. People seem to forget that this new series isn't going to replace the animated one, it's just going to tell the story in a new way. I almost don't have friends just a couple and most of the time they're busy, when I watch Avatar I feel accompanied like if I were part of them or at least someone who is "there" to see these kids arguing and playing and growing, when the show ends I feel kind of sad and empty. And I don't watch it immediately again because it feels forced and kind of weird for instance one day Zuko is nicer and friend to all and the next day he's again an angry kid, so I let some time to pass to watch it again. It's not my only comfort series but it's one of the most important. Same happens when I read books.

*one of many important things, but yes. Movie writing in itself is a very big thing to do. Avatar have peaked especially by YT critics, mostly because for how much fictional world building is done right and how Korra was being questionable at that. Character writing, delivering lines/nuance, world designing and fitting in right with a good genre is important in very different ways. But after all there is a typical divide in what makes us enjoy moving pictures where Barbie and Oppenheimer are perfect examples. One of us goes for laughs, one of us goes for nuance. I'm actually a Barbenheimer 🤫

I think cautiously optimistic is the safest way to look at this. Netflix has a pretty awful track record with live action adaptations, and really I just dont think Avatar lends itself to lice action anyway, but i will wait and see. Netflix is on crack if they think this is going to get me to subscribe though, especially after they raised sub prices again
