Babylon is absolutely insane. But insane in an awesome way. But unfortunately, Babylon is also making nothing at the box office. With The Fableman's and Empire of Light already this year... that's three for three. #film

Just got done watching your Avatar video and now I am going to binge watch all your vids. Keep up the work. Videos of your quality will someday get the respect they deserve.

A movie idea: A Hollywood film that's shot like a YT video essay that's about Hollywood cinema. The essayists would play themselves, and the Hollywood actors/directors/writers would also play themselves. The films featured in the essay would be parodying existing movies. The film would be called "Deconstruction" and it would be directed by David Sandberg.

This movie was grotesque. Vomit, defecation, urination, overdosing, snake bites, amongst others. This movie felt like an art film without a doubt. But it came off as an indy film but somehow was approved for a multi-million dollar film. The ending of the random movie clips felt like a documentary. The 3hr run time was hurtful past the 2 hour mark. I was very much interested in this movie and didn't spoil it for myself prior to the screening. Though I did hear that little to no one had went to see it. Then the reviews were glaring to say the least. I have heard other point of that the 3rd act was the worst, and I somewhat agree. The pacing was fluid before the whole I need 83,000 in 2 days. I remember hearing tobey maguire was in the movie and I had to second guess myself because I have already been in the theatre for 2 hours and maybe I had missed him. I do believe this will take the blade runner effect and become a classic as time progresses. Yet that likely won't be within this decade. Another great video!

A truly vile, pretentious, and insulting film.

Imma be real with ya. This movie is a eulogy to big screen film. Like the singers who replaced silent actors, influencers have replaced movie stars.

I have no problem repeatedly spending over three hours on Pandora, but I have to try and amp myself up to go see Babylon once -- which even as a cinephile and a person trying to break into the industry, the idea of sitting down for another three hour movie feels exhausting lol. Idk what was up last year with these Oscar hopefuls feeling the need to be over 150 minutes plus. Hopefully, this year they'll be more trimmed, but I feel like waiting to watch Babylon at home even though I love Tobey Maguire. Interestingly, most of the prestige films didn't manage to break even this season between Armageddon Time, She Said, Tar, Till and Banshees of Inisherin (tho the last two have fared slightly better). There's a lot of reasons from subject matter, release dates, the pricing of theater going, to audiences maybe expecting to watch these types of movies at home while paying to watch entertaining blockbusters like Avatar in theaters; but it all results in these films, Babylon included, failing and potentially limiting the possibility for these movies to get made. Prime for a video topic, but I enjoyed this!

Nah. This movie was gross as fuck. The vomiting, the rat eating, the elephant shit, the pissing on the face... I don't think this is gonna become a classic It was all clearly meant for shock value, done with the intention of getting mixed reviews and frustrated audience members who were outraged despite wanting to enjoy the film. If someone wants a good meta movie that does everything in the good parts of this film, they should watch The Disaster Artist or the first episode of season 3 of Barry

Personally not a fan of Damien Chazelle so doubt I'll see it, plus all the negative press about the bloated length, self-indulgence (shocker, self-indulgent Chazelle movie), and shock value content. Couldn't make it past the opening montage of La La Land. Whiplash is wholly unrealistic and irritating, just look at any jazz musicians' breakdown. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood already did the ode to Hollywood thing (granted, different era), and Tarantino's brand of pretentiousness is much more tolerable and fun, so much so I might actually see a musical if he directed it (musicals are for live performance and turn cringe inducing for me on screen).

At 5:19 you also missed that he gets so shocked because the movie is colored. Which I assume is the first time he sees that.
