Great reaction, thanks! Yeah, many of us have had the exact same experience when we first discovered BABYMETAL. I was like "it's weird but I cannot stop watching their videos" 🤣 And soon they seem to be less and less weird and you really start to appreciate all about them: the music, the band, the choreo, the vocals, the live productions... And you end up becoming a die hard fan and stop asking yourself many questions about your musical preferences. To me, discovering BABYMETAL was a life changing experience.

Great reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy (although it's clear you've already visited). Certainly they play and sell out arenas in Japan, but they are as big or successful in the US and Europe as any Japanese band has ever been - in 2016 they were the first Japanese band to headline Wembley Arena in London (and they broke all the merch sales records) and they filled the Forum in LA in 2019 for their first US arena show. This was a compilation video with clips from 10 different concerts from 2013 through to 2017. There is a video from the live performance at Budokan , Black Night 2014 that has subtitles if you want to watch that as well. The Kami Band were just doing one of their intros - its only fair they get their chance to show off during the shows and there are two or three other songs where they would do an instrumental intro like this. In order of solos in this video they were - Mikio Fujioka (RIP January 2018), Takayoshi Ohmura (pink ESP), BOH on the bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... which amuses me probably more than it should). The growling vocals (they are on a backing track) are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.

This song like most Babymetal songs is fun and light-hearted sounding while also including a dark twist. In this case the children in the song are playing a game of hide and seek, but the twist is the "tagger" is a Oni(sp?) Which is a Japanese ogre that eats naughty children. Throughout the song, the Oni (growls) keeps asking "Are you ready?" And the girls reply "No! Not yet!" And at one point asks "Are there any naughty children here?" and near the end yells "I see you!".

it's a video compilation of multiple shows edited together to fit the audio from 1 performance. You find this with a lot Babymetal vids on youtube. The record company is very thorough when it comes to DMCA for people uploading unedited performances. You will notice it because sometimes their costumes change and sometimes even the members who are on stage.

I'm Japanese . Thank for your nice reaction . There is no singer who has both beauty and good singing like Su-Metal (the lead singer of Babymetal) 'in Japan' , I think . She is 24years old now . She belongs to the biggest entertainment company in Japan and is a famous singer and talent from when a child . When you have a hard time , you should listen 'no rain no rainbow' by BABYMETAL . Your soul would be fulfilled by the God blessing , I think .

Great reaction. Babymetal being kind of odd is part of what puts a smile on people's faces. If you are just listening to album versions you are missing out, Babymetal live is basically always better. The biggest stages Babymetal performed at were actually in the west and not Japan, because they were festivals in Europe, especially the UK: Sonisphere 2014, 60k, Download, UK 2018, at least 80k. Did you know Babymetal even performed at Store Vega, Copenhagen, Denmark on Feb 5. 2020 ? Du-metal on blogspot has translations of all the songs from the first 2 albums, but sadly not the third album. Those translations are some of the best when it comes to Babymetal songs. I hope you do more Babymetal reactions. For example their first bigger stage, the song: Babymetal Headbanger show: Legend 1997 (the birthday show of the leadsinger, the sweet 16 party ever !)

Welcome to the BabyMetal Galaxy. My hope is that you enjoyed watching these young ladies and their world class backing band The Kami Band. You will get many suggestions to react to song/performances and I am going to give you my direct and honest opinion. React to them LIVE whenever possible. Only the most talented and professional bands can say this and their LIVE performances are next level, (some of the official MV’s are good - like Megitsune and Karate) but if you do react to an MV I would definitely react to the LIVE performance as well. BabyMetal has over 50 LIVE song/performances….and every one is different. They are fearless, exploring new music genres and NAILING them. With that said I suggest the following LIVE performances for new reactors in no particular order: Headbanger LIVE Road of Resistance Live in Japan Megitsune LIVE Kagerou LIVE (with Kami Band intro) Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK (60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls - safe from copyright block) BxMxC LIVE (kurokiitsunesama compilation) These are just a few of many but they will give you a great understanding of who they are before exploring the rest of their music catalog. Compilations are great as they are rarely blocked (as long as you know what they are going in, so as to avoid confusion). I suggest that if you do react to a compilation you choose videos done by kurokiitsunesama. (Ferr also does a good job with BabyMetal compilations). Compilations are rarely copyright blocked and give you a good idea of the crowds/different venues and shows that no matter where or when BabyMetal performs they go full out every performance. Avoid any LIVE performance from Glastonbury (the sound production by the BBC was incompetent) Do not react to these until later: All solos (including Rondo of Nightmare) Oh Majinai Tales of the Destinies BabyMetal Death My opinions of course. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy 🦊🤘🔥 Song title is "Catch Me If You Can" you forgot to put on your title. Is a creepy fun song about hide&seek but with a little twist, they're playing with an Oni, a Japanese ogre human flesh eater, you know this is metal after all 👹🤘 That solo guitarist smile is from our beloved Mikio Fujioka who passed away early 2018, we got a set of songs to remember him and YuiMetal withdrawal called the Trilogy Of Lights, whenever you want to hear just make sure to begin with "Starlight", then "Shine" and "Arkadia". Just be careful with live compilations like this one. You can find those songs along with many more full original clips safe to react at (I'll put the title on my next comment to avoid YT algorithm), look for Future Plans vid and follow instructions to get those clips with and without logos. And btw they are: SuMetal, MoaMetal and YuiMetal (former member). Thanks for sharing this and see you next time. Kitsune up! 🦊🤘

It’s a pity that you reacted to a compilation video. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. Watching a Babymetal compilation video is like eating prime rib after somebody else chewed it. I stopped watching your reaction (1:36) once I noticed it was compilation video. You're not reacting to Babymetal - you're reacting to a pirate's jigsaw puzzle of Babymetal.
