⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏃♀️👹 The footage was from ten different concerts. Audio was from Wembley Arena and Tokyo Dome Red Night, both in 2016. If much of their charm is in the blending of the cute and the brutal, this song is a great example. Turned up to eleven. : ) They performed this song quite a bit in 2017, but not since. The last time I saw this one was in Chula Vista, California when they were on tour opening for Korn.

The best Metal song ever about playing Hide and Seek. Great reaction and appreciation of the Kami Band and Babymetal as always though - as I knew you would - you quickly realised that this was a compilation. Here's a version with the Kami Band solos but from one concert - Black Night Legend - and English subtitles too so you can sing along! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJibhpKgZcyjgqs 🦊🤘🤘🦊

Great reaction. As you spotted this was a compilation video with clips from several different concerts (I saw Makuhari Hall, Saitama Super Arena, Wembley Arena in the UK, the Tokyo Dome and the Budokan in Tokyo plus maybe one or two more - they're probably listed in the description). The audio was from Wembley Arena in 2016. The Kami Band (in order of solos) that night - Mikio Fujioka (RIP), Takayoshi Ohmura, BOH and Hideki Aoyama, 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre). The growling vocals (on the backing track of course) are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance. I reckon quite a few people have done themselves an injury singing along and trying do that running dance round their living rooms.

Not to forget their cute way to cheat the audience into saving them from the demon tagger. A great example of crowd interaction and why BABYMETAL is best live. In their choreo they teach the crowd when to clap to the music in order to lure the tagger. Then we find out it is a people-eating demon. And when the music changes to the clapping part again - who is clapping to lure the tagger? - Not the girls on stage ;)

Baby Metal is divided into three parts: - A girl who sings well; - Two girls who do choreographies; - And the best band in Japan making it all happen.

Great reaction, thanks! I swear to the Fox God that all the Kami Band members have all my attention. They are awesome! "CMIYC" is definitely on their heavier side but it also has one of their cutest choreos, including my favorite movement: the infamous "Moa slide". It was my very first BABYMETAL song so it's very special to me and still one of my favorites.

Welcome back to the Babymetal foxhole. This is a mash up of various concerts to audio from the Wembley concert in 2016 so the instrumental solos don't match exactly. FYI I love that in his solo Ohmura throws in a bit of Parry/Elgar's Jerusalem which is probably the most patriotic of English hymns. The song is about a Japanese playground game where the tagger is called the "oni" or ogre and the ogre asks if the kids are ready and Yui and Moa answer "no not yet". Another interesting cultural reference in the lyrics is to it being dangerous "to go out in red shoes" which refers to a Japanese children's poem where a young girl wearing red shoes is taken away from her parents by foreigners. It was written in the early 20th century and probably expresses fear of the outsider and strangers.

*James McClung* Already give you "Babymetal Reactor Resource" channel link, follow the instructions and once you get the vids there pick the ones you like. Since apparently you don't know Black Babymetal go for _"Sis Anger"_ (beware of evil kawaiiness!) After that you can go for 3rd album songs like the *Trilogy Of Lights* a set of songs with: _"Starlight", "Shine" and "Arkadia"_ follow that order. Also you have _"Kagerou"_ with another unique West Kami Band intro ;)

Hey long time no see with BM, great reaction dude. Love it, love this song it's so much fun. It's as you say, a perfect example of BM's two extremes, with lots of technical playing, dirty chunky riffs and the almost cheesy vocals. It works perfectly, it's impossible to watch it without smiling.

Fun Fact: the Kami guitarist Takayoshi Ohmura (pink guitar) had a frequent habit of including little "Easter eggs" in his solos.... depending where the gig was. I'm surprised you didn't pick up on the reference to our great British patriotic anthem "Jerusalem" in the latter half of his solo, which I believe was from their Wembley Arena gig in 2016. Call yourself an Englishman? lol :) Great reaction (as usual!) anyway....please keep those BABYMETAL reactions coming!!!

Hi again Thomas - well, what can I say, they just make you smile don't they - so unique in these days of manufactured bands with plenty of lip synch and auto-tuning! I was very privileged to see them - just before lockdown in February 2020 in London (my last gig) - sadly, they've just put a video out closing this chapter of Babymetal - so everyone is unsure what the next one might be IF there is to be one that is. Not sure if you saw their final video last week - it was very sad! Anyway, great reaction as always Thomas - keep drinking the Laphroaig! 😃 and take good care of yourself. David
