I watch so many UK, US, EU reactions to BABYMETAL it's good to see some reactors from Japan. Japan should be proud of what BABYMETAL's achieved on the international stage. They played to 110,000 people on their recent US tour in addition to a number of large US festivals. Next is the UK/EU headline tour. I'll be watching BABYMETAL live for the first time at their two sold out shows at London Roundhouse in November.
Great to see you are doing Babymetal content again ! Thanks for this reaction, glad you liked it, it seems SO much fun live. They've been performing it at festivals in Japan and on the tour in North America (US, Canada), so I expect to see it on the European tour as well. So I hope to experience it in about a month from now. Now that Babymetal is 3 members again, they are a new and refreshed form of Babymetal. They are performing Babymetal Death (Babymtal desu) again as well to symbolize it. The song Metali was released about 10 years after Megitsune, probably intended to be connected (they also used the same MV director and similar themes). And it's an other festival song. At the introduction of Megitsune at the time an interviewer said: "we haven't heard that since (O)Matsuri Mambo". So, yes it does seem rare (we foreigners don't know enough about Japan to judge ourselves). The reason I think Babymetal does this is to show the Japanese connection, but also because of the crowd interaction. Latest Babymetal album, just before this song, 'The Other One', was a pretty serious concept album, their were no big crowd interaction songs. This is the first song by the new Babymetal and showing the new Babymetal is also about crowd interaction I think is very important. And having that connection with the 'old Babymetal' through Megitsune is great as well. Maybe that's similar to how Babymetal Death has connection to Metallica and Akatsuki has X-Japan connection. It also shows a mature kawaii side of them. Babymetal does what only Babymetal can do. And they are the best at it. :-)
My guess is they just didn't know what kind of song to do yet. Also I think this song was meant to be released in the year which is 10 years after Megitsune.
