Nice one, thanks! "Metali" (metari) = "metaru" (metal) + "matsuri" (traditional Japanese summer festival). So it's a "matsuri" influenced song and it's all about hyping the crowd and inviting them to dance and sing along. Musically, it's very groovy and funky. I love Su's clean yet aggressive vocals here. Really cool collaboration with Tom Morello who commented this: "I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I've been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of 'Metali!!' I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!". I'm very happy for Momoko on her first song and music video as an official member and also for her feature on that kabuki (traditional Japanese theater) style interlude. Until next time! 🤘🦊

Welcome back and thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。This song was one in the setlist that was performed in the North American tour (total 29 gigs in Aug. thru Oct.) with Dethklok and kept blasting the audience at every venue. The title is a synthesized word from two words : "Metal" and "Matsuri 祭 (festival)" → Metali. And if you want to know the deep meaning of the lyrics please check Professor Hartley's channel (Andrew Hartley). I witnessed this song live twice in August in Japan. At the actual venues, this song followed after an intro by Western (American) Kami Band's cool instrumental solos. Oh My Buddha! 😍 I got hyped like an idiot in the simplicity of this song. Momometal's extravagant elocution and moves in Kabuki style (and her growl in live show) gave an amazing accent in the exciting repetitiveness. The repetitive わっしょい "Wasshoi" is a call or yell used in Japanese Matsuri (festival). It is a kind of phrase to intensify people's excitement and especially to encourage the power of guys who are carrying a heavy Mikoshi on their shoulder that is a kind of a float in Western style festivals.

"Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi!“ Welcome back.🦊This is great fun when they play it live - the crowds are going nuts with it. Summer Sonic has a live version posted if you fancy seeing what they do with it. The song title translates as 'Metali' (or 'Metari') which is a fusion of the words metal and matsuri (festival). The song is about a Metal Village holding a metal festival, so they have included all the matsuri shouts everybody would be calling out as encouragement to the people carrying heavy floats etc like "Sore, Sore", "Dokoisho" and "Wasshoi!". They are inviting us all to dance - I am reliably informed there is something in the lyrics (Su sings it and it is in Momometal's kabuki section) about we are all idiots or fools - the idiots who watch and the idiots who dance ... so as we're all here and we're all idiots why just watch, we may as well all dance.

_Wasshoi wasshoi!_ _Wasshoi wasshoi!_ Welcome back to BabyMetal's journey. We got another banger for Japanese festival or any festival around, they performed this at The Babyklok Tour in the US in all the cities they've been around as well right now with the Europe Tour and getting the crowd going bonkers with this. The live debut was at Apocrypha - Another One exclusive show prior to the track release, it was fun and totally unexpected, everyone was having a blast and even started with a Kami Band solo after a while without it. There's a live proshot version at Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka released recently but it's heavily blocked so be careful. You'll notice some slight difference between the live and the studio album. The song title is Metali!! (metal + matsuri, which is a Japanese festival) and you can hear it in the spoken section when MomoMetal is doing the Kabuki moves style. Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festivals when men are carrying the shrine, similar to sore and soya in Megitsune and Karate. The traditional Japanese instrument you can hear in the beginning is a shamizen, also used in Megitsune. I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🦊🤘🎸

@@tscompendium4602 summer sonic official got the live clip upload recently and apparently it's safe to react, or at least someone already reacted to it with no problem, the one I mentioned here is the footage taken from WOWOW stream which was blocked on many others places but others still got up, probably bc they're unnoticed. Anyway take care.🦊🤘

The shamisen is featured here on the audio track as well as in the video. However, with the Megitsune MV the shamisen is only shown in the video and it is the Koto on the audio track.

You should watch the next video that you paused on at the end, Kingslayer by BMTH. There's actually a pretty good fancam of their very first live performance of the song together. It took them 3 years to be booked on the same festival to finally do it!
