BABYMETAL 'Metal Kingdom' MV with LIVE Footage! Multi-Instrumentalist Reacts

Yes, I was at both shows on 1/28 and 29. This was the opener and absolutely epic. The stage was essentially a catwalk that ran through the center connecting to the octagonal platform on both ends, and Kami Band was playing opposite the throne with masks on. Kami band for both shows were ISAO(90% certain), Ohmura Takayoshi, BOH, and Hideki Aoyama. I was right in front of the Kami Band on the second show. They looked and sounded amazing. Throughout the show there were many tiny drones flying throughout the venue and live streaming the footage on the large screens. The quality of the footage were amazing. Both shows had the same set list but with a slight different ending on the second show. The ending is basically Su and Moa walking towards their coffin, but in the second show a third coffin appeared between the two, and a girl dressed in babymetal outfit rose up from beneath the stage between Su and Moa. She was facing away from the audience and while everyone was trying to figure out who it is, the show ended. Momoko performed as an Avenger in both of these shows but couldn't really tell if the third girl at the end was Momoko. If you look at the Metal Kingdom footage notice there are three thrones, so it really looks as though they will officially be adding a third metal, likely to be announced at the next show in April. Great reaction. 'Metal Kingdom' is the opening track on the album - so of course they used it for the epic theatrical opening number at their concerts last week - their first live shows in nearly 2 years. We have missed seeing their live shows, they never hold back on the production in their big arena shows in Japan, but they always put on a great show even in the smallest of the venues they might play as they tour the world. This was the live performance but with the studio audio - the video was released less than a week after the concerts they filmed it at, so it is understandable why it has the studio audio. We will have to wait for the DVD for the live audio. The way the stage was set up - there was an east stage where the Kami Band were and a west stage where Su started here sitting on her throne (there were 3 thrones by the way). Joining the east and west stages was that huge walkway with the audience either side ... two front rows and both of them really long - so many people could benefit ... and on that was the moving stage which travelled along the walkway and also rose up and down. I understand Su, Moa and Momoko spent most of their time on the moving stage ... I have been told that an "unnamed" bassist has said that Su likes to get as close to the crowd as she can regardless of the issues it might cause or the difficulties with getting their audio all linked up. Apparently on the first night Su had issues with her IEM - it was all fixed and working as it should for the second night.

I was there for day 2 in C-block - close to the Kami band . This opener and the intro before was so emotional and epic. We could see the kami band and especially Boh dancing and jumping around a lot during the show.

You're not the first one finding GOT resemblance on this stage setup and production, it looks insane. The ten prophets are holding crosiers/scepters with "The Other One" logo which is similar to the infinite symbol OO and is the title of upcoming 4th album, they're opening up the 10 worlds/songs of this metalverse. The girls are carrying some kind of trident maybe to represent their trinity power, if you know MoaMetal you know you got be careful with her. 🔱 Here's some official info about this song: METAL KINGDOM (THRONE) _It is a powerful anthem ushering in the beginning of a new era while also representing the power and courage to step forward into uncharted territory. The track conveys imagery of one rising powerfully from the throne of silence, with a suitable fanfare announcing this new beginning._ At the end of January at Makuhari Messe they held two great live shows returning to the stage after almost two years. and by far they meet up my expectations with this epic live performance and top notch production. SuMetal and MoaMetal showing why they're a queen and princess deserving their thrones. The cinematic drone shots are just insane. We were expecting this live proshot version but we'll have to wait next month for live sound. We got so many big news and announcements, a new official member is coming (most likely Momoko Okazaki, the one who has been performing with them all these years and latest live concerts) next live shows in April 1 (Fox Day) when returning once again with another headlining shows at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama. Also they performed with a new BM mirror unit coming from another world of this metalverse, so we're guessing maybe some of the older kawaii metal songs they don't play anymore will be back with this new unit, so stay tuned for more but like always OTFGK. There was some minor issues when SuMetal was singing this live a little bit off, apparently an IEM issue or something but is all good coz we all know it's been a while since performing live and is the premiere of this song, pretty sure next live shows will be better. You asked, so yes, I just had to fly from the US for this concert. It was worth every penny. Flugelhorn and others already gave you great information. I’ll just say they like to get close to everyone in the crowd. There is no bad seat in the venue. While this was the studio track for the official video (turn around time), the Eastern Kami’s did perform it live to an equal, if not higher level of proficiency.

@@Icipher353 I was in G- South/ Epic! But the pillar was in the way for this one. But, I could see Su between the two pillars and with her voice, I was happy as a clam! I was in the Pit for ROR. I will never forget that show.

excellent content Wave-Metal, the staffs that the ten disciples are carrying serve a dual purpose, the tops are the Other One symbol and the whole staff is a key, so they are the ten key holders of the ten worlds and at the beginning they symbolically opened the Metal Kingdom.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。This video is from Makuhari shows on Jan.28 /29. I witnessed both shows at the venue. You saw one octagonal movable / elevatable stage but actually there were two identical stages for more surprising production. Several drones with camera were flying around all over the venue. The Kami band was playing on the east stage (fixed) that was not captured in this video. Once this opening song by Su and Moa got started, I had goosebumps all over my body. The show was held after the almost 2-year long hiatus after all. Seriously many of audience were moved to tears and/or dropped their jaws when the gigantic fox wall opened and the thrones came out. Yeah! I chanted all through the song. ♪ Oh oh oh o o o ♪. What a happy experience!! After this grave opening, 3 girls performed 12 songs with Momoko Avenger. Did you see 3 (not 2) thrones at 02:56 in your video? Yeah, BM will change. The official 3rd girl is going to be unveiled in the next shows in Yokohama on April 1/2. Yes, at last ✌

🤘👑 This concert, 'BABYMETAL RETURNS' will be broadcast on WOWOW on March 25th, 2023. WoWoW is a pay TV channel in Japan. It's very likely that a blu-ray announcement for the full concert will follow. Fox Day (April 1st) is a week later, and 'THE OTHER ONE' album will be released on March 24th.

The video is footage from Jan. concert (most likey 29th) and yes, was the opener, followed by Dvine Attack. Many around me were in tears! The song is from their studio track. Most likely Bluray with concert sound coming up in future.

Yes, it was the Eastern Kami band, but no solos as before. I did miss that. / the many Oo oooos in METAL KINGDOM which was criticized as being too repettive when only audio was available, was great @ LIVE!! we wanted more! So I suggest we try not to comment until we see them LIVE!

Love your comment about Champ, but I guess he was just being honest, so by the same token, I do hope CHAMP gets to see them live and agree with us that BABYMETAL is to be seen LIVE. Same with PA PA YA later in the show! Everyone around me went totally nuts and twirled towels. I did not have a towel so used my muffler. Who makes thousands of people to nuts like that? PA PA YA would not be my go to song to play in the car while driving... but man when seen/ felt live, it is fire! - totally different.

This was the show opener Makuhari Messe on the last weekend of January. I was one of the lucky kitsune that got be there and it was absolutely spectacular. I got chills seeing and hearing Su and Moa perform live. It was completely worth the trip from Australia to see them.

This was live footage from the Makuhari Messe arena in Japan, and I believe it usually accomodates around 20k+ people. Later this year they will have another show at Yokohama, in a smaller venue of about 10k

I was there running around the circle pit🤘 Su playing with Boh between the songs as some said😁 and Moa and Momoko making us head banging or we say Doge-ban with a smile on their faces. It was sooo epic😂 I know Babymetal gets better and better while they tuor around the world. Hoping they will do a big show in the end of this year. I will be very happy to see you then in Japan🤘🦊🦊🦊🤘

BABYMETAL openers are almost always epic, but especially this song. What an unbelievable experience for the people there. THIS is why they are my favorite band. When this gets released on blu-ray and we can actually hear the Kami Band play the whole show with this atmosphere, I think there will be no doubt that them returning will be the biggest story of the year for Japanese music.
