The lyrics are about a 'metal' matsuri (Japanese for village festival, 'metali' is wordplay of both terms), & Su-metal is cheering all song for everyone ("nikisan nekisan' = brothers & sisters) to form up, sing & dance along to the merrymaking. Traditional matsuris feature decorative heritage floats which are pulled or carried by participants, & the tune cleverly uses their style of chanted exhortations as a rallying call, either repeatedly shouted by Su & backup singers, or for the call-&-response parts. wakka ni natte! = form a circle! so-re so-re dokkoisho = that's it that's it let's go! odore odore! = dance it dance it! yurase yurase! = shake it shake it! utae utae! = sing it sing it! sakebe sakebe! scream it! scream it! wasshoi wasshoi! = heave-ho heave-ho! Momometal's solo bit is Kabuki theatre, with the lyrics meaning something like: the dancing fools, look at the fools / if we're fools too, we should dance / if we don't dance now, then when are we to dance / metali metali / (growls) are you ready BM is insanely inventive again. Once more, I don't think this has ever been conceived or done before with such creative success.

I've carried those shrines around cities in Japan and have volunteered to help out with the Natsu Matsuri. These are words yelled out in those traditional festivities and it's crazy to hear it fall so naturally on a metal track, makes you want to scream it out. The vibes are real. Blending the new with the old traditions.

I love how they included the „everybody get low“ and „are you ready“ Part, because ist just soooo good. Momo-chans „are you ready“ makes the following beat drop just so much more intense. Its Not in the Original Song, and i also couldnt find a Video of it with good Quality. It was just at the Concert i went to where i found out how good the live Version is. Im just happy i can listen to this Version now too :))

@@radioraffa tbf it takes time and practice to growl like that without damaging your voice. if she's not used to it then it's probably not worth the risk. I do think it'd be awesome if she was training to do it properly so the next album(s) can include some growls. Imagine a song like Distortion with "real" growls, rather than featuring someone else!

@@annas4277 Oli Sykes from Bring Me the Horizon also said in an interview that doing the growls multiple times in performances while on tour nearly permanently damaged his. That's why some of their newer albums don't have him doing it. Kobametal clearly took notes and isn't going to make Momoko risk her voice like that. But, yeah, I hope she does some growls on the next album too.

Who would hate on that ? Sure maybe ladies in K-pop get a more attention to create that parasocial relationship, but Babymetal is actually one of those that performers regularly in the west, so you can go see them. Also for Babymetal it's been great having the new triangle formation.

@@autohmae Come to think of it, I don't think Kep1er has performed in the USA yet, AND its girls are having issues with their contracts because it's an abnormally short period (30 months) and they want to keep going. Meanwhile Momoko, though she doesn't get to actually speak directly to fans, can be in BM as long as Su desires. (I _want_ a parasocial relationship with Momoko! even more than that I want a photobook, she's gorgeous! 😛)
