The musicians are called the "Kami Band". "Kami" means god in Japanese, and these guys are like gods of music. They are all men and are Japan's best musicians. They are wearing burial gowns and corpse face paint because in the BABYMETAL legend/fantasy, the "Fox God" raises the musicians from the dead and calls on them to play the music for the girls for each concert. The 3 girls have been chosen by the "Fox God" to be the saviors of metal, and unite the world through metal.

Suzuka Nakamoto, the Metal-Queen, is SO good that you sometimes even forget about the great Kami-Band that plays to her singing. If I was 16 and stand on a 2m high platform with 20k+ people watching, I would DIE ! Long live the Queen!

Great reaction. The Mischiefs of the Metal Gods intro is so good - and then summoning Su-metal up from below the stage to give that performance, this is as close to perfection as makes no difference.

⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 That was a sixteen year old Su at that Budokan Black night concert. "Rondo" had it's world premiere the night before at the Red Night show. Her voice has only improved in the six years since. It's easily in my top ten BABYMETAL songs. Su performed three solos that night. She did 'No Rain, No Rainbow', followed by 'Akatsuki' earlier in the set. Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) performed two songs without Su. And there were ten songs with all three members on stage. That Black Night Budokan concert from March, 2014 is still one of my favorite BABYMETAL shows of all time. For 'Mischief of the Metal Gods': 1st solo Leda Cygnus (guitar), 2nd solo Takayoshi Ohmura (guitar and real hair), 3rd solo BOH (bass and really bald), 4th solo Hideki Aoyama (drums). : ) All of them are involved in various projects in the Japanese music scene. Takayoshi Ohmura often plays with Marty Friedman's band.

It's a treat to see someone who is already such a fan react to this performance for the first time. I had the same kind of giddy appreciation for the intro solos the first time I saw this. Such talented people, and reading some interviews, they all seem to treasure their time playing with Babymetal. The way Sumetal manages to make her voice sound so powerful and vulnerable at the same time in this song is also really incredible.

This song is about being trapped in a endless Nightmare and being chased by some kind of monster. At the quiet part when she loweres her head, she ask the monster to reveal itself. If you like this one I might suggest you to watch "Babymetal - Akatsuki Live at Budoka Black Night" . It's another solo song from Su-Metal and the performance was on the same day as this one.

Great reaction the part i loved the most was how quite you where during Su's singing . This is one of the reasonds we call her our Queen and Goddess she commands the stage and audience. As you said you dont have to understand you feel the song through the emotion Su puts into her performance. 🤘🦊🤘❤

@@cav94 - that part at 7:08 i thought it was an electronic effect but she's doing that live. she's singing into the side of the microphone. i had never seen that before but apparently it's more common in Japan. why shave your head if you're not bald? i'm really really lazy too, i shave it and let it grow out and when it gets too long i shave it again. lazy and cheap. i bought a 10 dollar hair clipper i get haircuts for years :) I remember my girlfriend asked me not to cut my hair, then 1 week later she saw how bad it looks and then asked me to cut it :)

Nice reaction again & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 As RoadRunner commented below, they are Queen and Gods (=Kamis). Kamis' plays are already a main event class, but , as you noticed, once the Queen shows up she colors everything differently and turns Kamis' plays into a ritual to summon her. The 3 girls once said (my translation) "We feel we have been protected all the time by Kami band" and Kamis said "The girls took us to stages in the world (outside of Japan). We have nothing but gratitude towards them". This is the ideal relations between talented and attractive front performers and super supporting musicians, isn't it ?

The way I see it, Babymetal with Su-metal at it's core, at such a young age is something unique, something which is 'ones in a life time' event. Turns out the song style is actually a waltz. Something for later, maybe not do them directly after this one, do some other Babymetal songs first, but an other great Su-metal solo song is (this one is 2 types of performances, maybe react to them in this order): Akatsuki Budokan and Akatsuki Unfinished Legend 1997

Hej, hej! Nie musicie robić reakcji na BM co dzień, raz na tydzień/na 10 dni wystarczy. Najwazniejsze, żebyście się dobrze przy tym bawiły. Co do pytania o włosy: Perukę na tym koncercie miał tylko Leda Cygnus (czarna gitara - I solo), Takayoshi Ohmura (złota/różowa gitara - II solo) ma naturalne długie włosy, tak samo jak Hideki Aoyama (perkusja - IV solo) i BOH (gitara basowa - III solo) - ale tu się ciężko pomylić :P Sama piosenka jest inspirowana "Alicją w Krainie Czarów" (roboczy tytuł "Kill the Alice"), ale zamiast czarów mamy koszmar. Bohaterka - podmiot liryczny - ucieka w ciemnościach przed nieznanym potworem, czasem słychać jego głos, czasem w mroku widać błysk zębów lub oczu. W końcu ukrywa się w starej fontannie w lesie, ale prześladowca jest coraz bliżej. Część śpiewana techniką rezonacji nosowej mówi o tym, że niema już siły uciekać i się poddaje losowi, ale przed śmiercią chciałaby zobaczyć prześladowcę. Sam tytuł powinien brzmieć "Ring/Circle of Nightmare" ale rondo jest użyte ponieważ to również termin muzyczny, a BABYMETAL uwielbia grę słów. Jedna z komentujących osób napisała, że cała piosenka świetnia pasuje do przeżyć osoby zmagającących się z depresją, więc to inna interpretacja, nawet bardziej mroczna niż poprzednia. Nice reaction, thanks! And this is one of the reasons why SU-METAL is called the Queen. The instrumental song is called "Mischiefs of the Metal Gods" and it's the way the Kami Band have to summon the Queen. Rondo of Nightmare is a very heavy and dark song. It's about being trapped into an endless nightmare (so the recurring "rondo") without any chance to escape and begging to the dark entity to show before she dies. Well, I don't watch anime, but there is a BABYMETAL song (a cover, in fact) that fits perfectly here: Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai (Live Budokan Black Night): kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3-tiZxtZ9B2ldU which means something like "I want to watch anime with you" :)

I saw it couple of times that people say she asks the monster to reveal itself before she "dies" . But the lyrics never suggest anything about her dying. I interpret it as that she is trapped in this Nightmare, can't escape and is being chased by something and she wants to know what is chasing her that won't let her escape this Nightmare, it's like you are scared of something but you don't know what it is and are desperate to know what is chasing you. But yea the lyrics are a bit vague and people can interpret different things :D

@@TheSniatch Yeah, you are right, but if a dark force, entity or monster is chasing you and you know there is no chance for you to escape and you ask him or it to show off, nothing good is about to happen next... Probably the metaphor of the dark entity is actually an allegory for something bigger, but who knows. Obviously it's all interpretative but this is why these lyrics are so poetic, and so good! I just LOVE it! :)

You are right that it doesn't specifically say about her dying, but (as I read it at least, so again our own interpretations and understandings may differ and maybe we are both right) it is certainly implied , or if not death then some equivalent nothingness - the last lyrics are: "If I can no longer get out of here, won't you show me your figure? It flickers slowly appearing and disappearing in my mind. A nightmare rondo is being repeated. The awakening light is gone far away out of my sight. I can do nothing but fall into the darkness."

​@@Grington300 Yea I agree with you, I think it depends here what someone would interpret for "darkness". If I apply this song to my personal interpration for my real life then it would be about fear/anxiety. She is scared of something but doesn't know what it is and falls into this anxiety/depression that she can't escapre. But if I would take the lyrics more literal than yes, she is stuck in a nightmare and is being chased by this creature that might want to kill her. I think the lyrics are very vague and give a lot of space for personal interpretation. As Su said once, everyone is free to interpret the songs as they want. :D

@@Inosuke_Hashibira75 I discovered them in 2015 I think, but until recently only watched the same videos and listened to the same songs: Gimme Chocolate, Iine, Headbanger, Karate, and Megitsune. Then last year I had a chance to see them live in San Francisco, but I didn't go! But honestly, even though I was a fan last year, this year is when I became a real serious fan after I watched many of their concert videos, watched many interviews, watched their old videos when they were with SG, read many articles about them, and learned a lot about their history. Now I listen to BABYMETAL daily and when they tour the US again, I will go and watch them for sure! Yeah, I would love to see them in Japan! Their concerts in Japan seem to be bigger and better!
