⚡ 💀 💕 / 🕛 As you gathered, 'Uki Uki ★ Midnight' and 'Doki Doki ☆ Morning' are kind of like sisters. Both are stylized with a star in the song titles, and they're both "slice of life" songs; one daytime and one nighttime. I love the part in the choreography where Yui and Moa fly around Su like little fairies while she's dreaming. For me it's one of their most underrated songs. With some of the best audience call and response: "You and me! Uki Uki Midnight! Closing time, No way! Kinkirariiiiinnnnn! (Glittering bright!)" Moa's fondness for "old man snacks" like dried squid is referenced in the lyrics. When she was in Sakura Gakuin, she helped create the unofficial "Koyaji Club". "ko"= young/little. "oyaji" = old man. The idea of this club was to enjoy "old man snacks" like dried squid. They replaced the saki and beer with ginger ale though. : ) The songwriters were probably referring to an incident where the BABYMETAL members spread out candy, and snacks like dried squid on the bed after one of their shows. They talked about that on one of their early radio appearances. Sadly they haven't performed this song since 2017, and only once that year.

Nice reaction as always. For me this is one of the songs/performances that show why Yui & Moa needed breaks. They must have burnt huge amounts of energy. I know Moa & Momo still dance a lot today but early performances were more frenetic which I guess you can do more easily in your early/mid teens.

Nice reaction ... all their songs will be your favourite eventually, its just that some may take a little longer (and more listens) than others to get there.😉 'Uki Uki Midnight' is like the follow up to 'Doki Doki Morning' in that one the girl was waking up late and rushing to get ready for school ... maybe it was because she had stayed up too late having a midnight feast with her friends as in this one. There is a reference to an incident when they were on tour in this where the girls all gathered together in a hotel room to share some treats ... and Moa brought dried squid with her. Su and Yui teased her this made her look like a little middle aged man as dried squid is more the sort of snack associated with older men - Su and Yui wanted to eat sweets of course. From a recent video where BABYMETAL talked about their favourite foods it sounds like Su, Moa and Momo have continued the tradition, but they are have dip parties with tortilla chips and the like these days.

Haha nice one, this is a fun classic. Definitely brings out the child-like adorableness of early Babymetal. Fun fact: at some point during an interview, Su made fun of Moa for having “salty snacks” strewn all over her hotel bed while on tour. Su said it’s the snacks old-men usually have. 😂 I feel like the squid arm part could be a fun jab at Moa 🤣 Other suggestions: *Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* If you want something truly “dark”. *Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* Also dark, but also cute. Both these performances also have amazing Kami Band intros. 🤘🦊 🤘🦊

nice reaction. I always thought that this song's main purpose was to explain why they have Doki Doki Mornings. It just fit so well. They said they have chip parties now. With salsa and guacamole. Which explains Night Night Burn. Followed by another Doki Doki Morning. LOL I have seen a pattern from their songs and how so many of them explain their Doki Doki morning issue. True rock stars nobody tells them when to go to bad. Only when they have to wake up. LOL
