Good first reaction, welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 That is interesting that you discovered them through their Hellfest performance. They always put on a great show wherever they play and their big arena concerts in Japan are really spectacular. They never give less than 100% for every song at every concert - they appreciate people have paid a lot of money to see them and have often travelled a long way and they are very grateful for the support they get and they try to pay that back with their energy and performance. BABYMETAL formed in 2010 creating their own new metal sub-genre. They started as a fusion of Metal with J-Pop hooks, melodies and aesthetics including choreographed dance - but not as you know it. Their choreo is not used to titillate or distract like it is by most pop acts etc, it is interpretive, relating to the meaning of the song or a lyric - very handy for us non-Japanese speakers - but most importantly it is used to engage with, include and involve the audience. They are masters of crowd control and can get whole arenas (not just the front rows) jumping, chanting and joining in, following their lead. As an old school rock and metalhead I had no interest in choreographed dance (and I still don't with any other artists), but BABYMETAL's choreo just enhances and improves everything ... I have no idea how, it just does. They did not stick at J-Pop and they have gone on to mix and blend so many more musical styles and genres with the metal. They have about 70 songs now, each one different to the last. Some are good hard metal (and they have songs in virtually every metal genre), some may lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between. The original 3 BABYMETAL girls were - Su-metal (lead vocalist), Moametal and the original third member Yui Mizuno aka Yuimetal. Yui last appeared in October 2017. She missed Su-metal's 20th birthday concerts in December 2017 and the 2018 tour because of poor health. She announced in October 2018 that she was still not fully recovered and had decided she would leave the band. Su and Moa continued as a duo (supported in live shows by any one of 3 dancers taking the 3rd spot on a rotation basis) for the next 4-5 years. On 1st April 2023 they finally revealed their new official third member Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) - she was the last remaining one of the 3 dancers who had been supporting them since 2019. BABYMETAL started with little or no budget wearing borrowed clothes, singing and dancing to pre-recorded instrumentals in shopping malls, a stage by the food court normally reserved for stand up comedians at one festival and small shows in tiny venues. They started to gain an audience nobody had expected would exist for such a weird fusion of styles and as they started to get noticed to to gain popularity they got a bit more budget for costumes and eventually a live band. The Kami Band are their live band. They first appeared in October 2012 and they were phased in gradually over the next 18 months or so playing at a couple of festivals and playing the encores in some shows. In Feb 2014 BABYMETAL released their first album and at shows at The Budokan in Tokyo on 1st and 2nd March the Kami Band finally became their full time support for all live shows. They were the very best session musicians to be found in Japan. As session musicians they have their own bands and projects etc so would swap in and out depending on their availability, but the same hard core of about 6 musicians played the vast majority of live shows from 2014 through to January 2023. In 2019 as BABYMETAL's tours got longer the Kami Band of the West (4 American musicians) were introduced to support BABYMETAL on the lengthy foreign tours. These musicians (the bassist has swapped out for now) have been ever present since 1st April 2023 (that was nearly 100 concerts in 25 countries in 2023 and I don't know how many concerts and festivals this year - including Hellfest of course). You could go back to see them evolve and grow up (they were aged 12 and 11 when they started in 2010). We have watched them become one of the very best live bands over the years - they set themselves very high standards. As I'm sure you know, 'RATATATA' is a straight collaboration between the two bands even though it is very much in the Electric Callboy style. BABYMETAL do everything. That's one reason their collaborations all work so well, they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with. jakemuller8626 has left you a list of great songs in the comments below to get you started.

Bienvenido al mundo de BabyMetal o welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🤘🔥 BM es un grupo fascinante que te va a sorprender a medida que vas conociendo más y más canciones. Si bien Hellfest es un buen festival cuando subieron el video la mezcla de audio no estaba buena pero por suerte después lo arreglaron un poco mejor y espero que haya sido ese momento cuando escuchaste ésta canción o el show completo.😅 Acá te dejo info básica sobre ellas: BabyMetal es una unidad de baile metal formada en 2010 bajo el grupo Sakura Gakuin, ellas eran una subunidad o más bien como un club de la escuela ya que era esa la temática idol, ellas o más bien su productor, crearon el género kawaii metal mezclando el genero Jpop con diferentes mezclas y subgéneros del metal. Se volvieron independientes en 2013 y su nombre es en referencia al nacimiento de un nuevo género, no precisamente por sus caras de bebé o ser tan jovencitas, aunque igual el look ayudaba a dar esa impresión. Sus integrantes originales eran: *SuMetal* vocalista principal y baile, 26 años. *MoaMetal* coro y baile, 25 años. *MomoMetal* 21 años, coro y baile, es la nueva miembro oficial desde abril 2023. -YuiMetal- ex miembro desde 2018. Después de 2018 y hasta 2021 que dejaron de actuar para tomarse un descanso después de celebrar sus diez años vas a ver diferentes bailarinas completando el tercer lugar llamadas "avengers", una de ellas era Momoko Okazaki ahora MomoMetal, pero ninguna de ellas fué miembro oficial, excepto MomoMetal por supuesto a partir del año pasado. Acerca de ésta canción: Me encantó éste sencillo, soy fan de los elementos trance y euro dance en éstas mezclas con heavy metal y además podemos ver a las chicas divertirse como hace mucho no veíamos desde la era temprana de BM.❤ Cuando escuché el audio el día que se estreno un poco antes que él lanzamiento del vídeo oficial pensé que el segundo "Are you ready?" lo había hecho MomoMetal como ya demostró en otras canciones que puede hacerlo pero al final no lo mostraron en el video, aunque luego en el festival FOX_FEST de Japón dónde también estuvo Electric Callboy y estrenaron ésta canción se pudo ver que era MomoMetal (la nueva integrante desde el año pasado) la que hacía esos growlings de acompañamiento al igual que en la parte final cuando cantan "everybody", ahí si la enfocan en el video y luego se puede apreciar en la versión en vivo. También estuvieron otras bandas y artistas como Polyphia cuyos guitarristas también tienen una aparición especial en la canción Brand New Day en la version del album Metal Galaxy y por fin pudieron hacer la presentación en vivo juntos que era algo que estaban deseando hace mucho, podés disfrutar de la versión oficial en vivo aunque te recomiendo que esperes y sigas con tu viaje con canciones de la primera era. Si observas la letra en general es muy divertida pero también hay algunas ligeras referencias a la cultura pop los 80 y 90. Volvieron a tocar este tema juntos en la gira Europea la cuál culminó el pasado fin de semana en el Resurrection Fest de España y con ambas bandas tocando juntos en el escenario dos veces, una en el show de EC y la otra en el de BM. Te voy a tratar de dejar más recomendaciones de dónde conseguir clips seguros para reaccionar en mi siguiente comentario si YT me deja hacerlo para que no tengas necesidad de hacer éstos efectos, pero mientras tanto para que sepas los videos oficiales lanzados desde 2022, mayormente todos pertenecientes al último álbum, no están teniendo problemas de bloqueo, sólo raras excepciones como RATATATA lo están teniendo, tampoco no todos los videos anteriores a ese año tienen ese problema, sólo algunos, por eso te dejo la lista. They started in 2010 and were just little girls at the time (hence the "baby" in their name). 2014 was when they had their international breakthrough; before that they were mostly unknown outside of Japan.
