Babymetal in 2016 performed at the famous Wembley Arena in the UK (think of this like Budokan in Tokyo, both build for sports in the Olympics), the start of the tour for the second album, that was their 3rd world tour and they were 16, 16 and 18 years old. They were the first Japanese artist to do so. They did that before the well establish in rock/metal X-Japan (Babymetal did not try to grab this title before X-Japan, they are far to humble and have a great love for X-Japan, but 1 of the X-Japan members had to go to the hospital because he was sick and Babymetal was going to perform 1 week after X-Japan, so because X-Japan performance was cancelled/delayed by 1 year, Babymetal got first). They did something similar for the 3rd album and performed at an even bigger venue in the US The Forum near Los Angeles in 2019 (this is the same company as Madison Square Garden and almost as big). I wonder if Babymetal will release a new album in 2025. They already have a concert planned in O2 Arena in the UK. Babymetal seem to have a whole arena show planned for Europe in 2025. What Japanese artist can do an arena tour outside of Japan ? I think maybe ONE OK ROCK ? (which used to be part of Amuse as well).
BABYMETAL hit #39 on the Billboard Top 200 in 2016 for Metal Resistance and #13 on the same chart for Metal Galaxy, breaking Kyu Sakamoto’s record in 2019.
