FYI-YG scrapped their original debut song, recorded a new one, shot that music video this October and has scheduled them for debut this month, some say around the 10th or 11th. All of this supposedly, of course; you just never know with YG. But we should find out soon.

For what I'm hearing in YG forum the talks is they are going to try new approach to the debut and I don't know how or what but if they do a regular YG promotion then it might be what I'm hearing that they might debut early next year. 🤣🤭

the 3 ladies you asked for are An A&R (artists and repertoire) representative is responsible for finding promising new artists for a record label or music publisher to sign. so basically they are the ones who found these girls and from now on they are in charge to take care of all 7 . ( flights , cars, managing their schedules , money , attending many types of different tv formats and music shows EVERYTHING , no wonder they look so worried , they care for the girls so much already , that's a good sign .

Something not mentioned that contributed to delaying the debut of BabyMonster is a few weeks after YG released these announcement videos, the laws in Korea regarding minors in K-POP changed. The changes limited the amount of hours a trainee/artist under the age of 20 (Korean age) could do. For age 12-19 (Korean age), max of 7 hours per day. For age 16-19 (Korean age), max of 35 hours per week. For age 12-15 (Korean age), max of 30 hours per week. Time used for training, practicing, promoting, and performing all count towards the daily/weekly hour caps. The minimum age for a Korean citizen to work overseas (outside of Korea) remains at 16 (Korean age). Before these changes, there was no daily hour cap and a trainee/artist age 15-19 (Korean age) could work 40 hours per week and a trainee/artist younger than 15 (Korean age) could work 35 hours per week. In addition, the time used for training did not count towards the weekly hour limits.

Also not sure if you know this... There are two systems to count age in Korea. Korean age and International age. International age is determined by date of birth. Korean age is determined by year of birth. So, every one in Korea gets two birthdays. One on January 1st and one on the month & day you were born on. Korean laws, legal system, and education system utilize Korean age. Fun fact... The legal drinking age in Korea is 19 (International age 18).

But it made me understand how much thought and effort they put into it. Few side notes. The ladies you asked who are they I’d bet no one really knows. But my guess is managers/carers. Just people who look after the girls. Again Chiquita is the obvious example, you can’t take a 13 year old to another country away from her family without someone looking after her. And I love seeing Ruka in this. So much swag while rapping. Asa is the technical one. But Ruka has the attitude. But she is actually tiny. The oldest but the smallest.

Yeah, about those ladies. If you notice, when they first appear on the screen, there's an indication that they are the "A&R" team for Baby Monster. A&R means "Artists and Repertoire". That kind of team is responsible for scouting, recruiting and overseeing the development of artists. They are also responsible to some extent for dealing with the company and families when it comes to matters affecting the artists. So, yeah, they would definitely feel it when YG announced that Rora and Asa would not be in Baby Monster...because guess who is going to have to explain things more to not only Rora and Asa, but also to their families and hear the complaints. They probably also made a bunch of promises to those families that would seem to have possibly been broken here. Thankfully, YG of course did it for dramatic effect. It looks like at the time they didn't know that YG was just creating drama. So when they showed genuinely shocked faces, the camera crew knew they had to record the scene. (To make it seem like he was really cutting them from Baby Monster, YG talked about Asa and Rora going into different groups, Asa going to a future group in Japan and Rora going into some future group in Korea. But that's just the same as telling them they are going nowhere because there is no evidence that anything about any such future groups is, at present, anything more than just an ambiguous plan that will not amount to anything for the next 5 or 7 more years...or maybe will never amount to anything at all. Everyone really knows that Baby Monster is going to be the big priority at YG for girl groups for the next 5 or 7 years or more, depending on how well they do. And not being part of Baby Monster would just mean going back to being a trainee with a very uncertain future and no guarantees of anything.)

FYI - Although YG said that he is "planning" other girl groups, anything he says should be taken with a grain of salt. YG releases artists only once every few years, I doubt that either of the girls would continue waiting. He only debuted BLACKPINK after 2NE1 disbanded, now he's debuting BABYMONSTER after BLACKPINK's contract ended three months ago. Still no word from the YG camp, they are known to be notoriously tight-lipped.

I have to say that although YG did bring the last two girls in, I'm sure it still affected them negatively. Every time they see YG in the halls or when he speaks to them, they'll think that he felt they were "lesser than", not his choices in the group. I'm not crazy about his statement at the end, "think of them as members you (the fans) chose".

Will they finally debut in November as rumored? We've been told that searching for a mind blowing debut tiyle track is readon for the delay. I'm also curious how many songs will be released. Will it be 2 song digitsl without a physical cd lije early BLACKPINK or are we getting a mini album with 4-7 songs and cd release in multiple physical versions to empty fans' wallets (I got all 3 regular Korean versions and 4 solo versions of BORN PINK album last year, but not the Target US versions with uncensored lyrics and different folded posters inside, some fans apparently with no other expenses buy from every online store to chase the many exclusive photo cards, also buying all 16 Japanese versions would've set one back about $1,000 to import at the time). THE BEST KPOP DEBUT OF 2023 SO FAR... It'll be interesting to see if BABYMONS7ER does a dual mv release like BLACKPINK did or how the b-sides will be handled by YG and whether the rumored November debut happens. Meanwhile, KISS OF LIFE will be releasing their 2nd mini album in November with Born to be XX (7 travks if including English version of the main song and apparently doing 2 title tracks) and we'll see if they can keep the bar high and it can match their impressive debut. Now I'll need to get both cd versions, the debut only had one and it sold out kinda quick so I was lucky to get it -- maybe their smaller company was surprised by the popularity and didn't print enough copies.

I watched the Last Evaluation episodes the day they dropped and it was tense for 2 months or so. I've also seen these 2 videos multiple times since thanks to reactors and the 7 member board reveal to the girls and their response stll gets me misty eyed and I'm a grown-a** man. Some fans have questioned whether he planned this all along and man6 fans do notblike 'Papa YG'. I have mixed feelings since he did create some groups I love and his company trained talented members who went on to join groups at other labels that are ar the top of my list, but while making BLACKPINK huge with scarcity principle marketing we feel like we were denied at least another 3 mini slbums of 4 songs (we waited almost 2 years between The Album and Born Pink with just Rosé and Lisa solos to tide us over). Fans don't trust the whole YG saying he's creating other girl groups soon thing because it took over 7 years since BLACKPINK and similar time gap with their predecessor. Some talented trainees left the company in that time (luckily they went to companies who would allow them to write lyrics and compose their own songs, something BLACKPINK gets little opportunity to do, maybe because their infrequent releases need to be guaranteed chart toppers). WHAT ABOUT SOME GREAT TRAINEES WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY LEFT YG? While the former YG trainees I'm about to mention likely won't become millionaires like YG artists do (very rare, usually limited to artists from the 4 biggest companies - many talented Kpop artists struggle financially), but they joined groups that became my 3 favorite groups after BLACKPINK and unsurprisingly Chaein, Moon Sua and Seoyeon are the members of their groups with the most swag. They were previously in a trainee group known to YG label fans by the codename future2ne1. Though Chaein wasn't in the one famous 4 trainee evaluation video (thonk she joined company a bit later), she can be seen in old clips of Kpop Star as a kid impressing YG as a judge with her vocsl improvements.. The 3 great groups are: PURPLE KISS, FROMIS_9, and BILLLIE. After watching BABYMONS7ER Last Evaluation I thought hey maybe PURPLE KISS has competition in the most talented 4th gen girl group category. PK's 3 main vocalists are one of the best female vocal line in Kpop with 3 very different vocal tones that complement each other. My #2 Kpop group PURPLE KISS have 2 talented former YG TRAINEES Chaein and Ireh. BM Ruka has onstage swag but her one Achilles heel is her English pronunciation, something she has in common a bit with another PK member, the Japanese Kpop idol rapper I'm suprised you haven't reacted to yet: YUKI of PURPLE KISS (MAMAMOO's juniors at RBW a company known for impressive vocals). She is considered by quite a few Kpop fans to be one of the best 4th gen girl group rappers (reactors RCP from ATL were asked to name an idol who could be a 'rapper rapper' and her name was brought up. She was also in top 7 contestants this week on Queendom Puzzle ep7). She has the #2 most songwriting credits of any 4th gen girl group member in just 2 years because she writes raps on most of their songs. Offstage when not being a bada-- rapper she is a horror movie fan and known for her distinctive laugh. The group also has a former YG TRAINEE Chaein who is my 2nd favorite Kpop main vocal after BLACKPINK Rosé (my #3 might be Swan another of the group's 3 main vocals and 20yo maknae who recently dropped a 2 song solo). Chaein is a great b-sides composer (CURSOR, OH MY GOSH, JOAH, T4KE) / choreographer and all-rounder who dances well and occasionally raps (Yuki & Chaein covered Doja Cat's Vegas) and has some YG swag (Chaein's bestie / jokingly self-described wife, main dancer Ireh was also a former YG TRAINEE). PURPLE KISS are known for their versatility, generally changing genres with every new title track and have a great collection of b-sides. Start with recent R&B song SWEET JUICE or witchy debut PONZOÑA or disco pop ZOMBIE or spooky b-side performance video for PRETTY PSYCHO which started out as intro FREAKY PURKY one of their 5 spooky short into track performance videos (CROWN, ILLUSION, BYE BYE BULLY, SAVE ME often have shades of Billie Eilish in them, the 3 main vocals also covered her BURY A FRIEND). Their M2 relay dances are great, particularly their cover of EXO OVERDOSE or their dance cover of labelmates ONEUS underrated song BLACK MIRROR. They have songoing lore in some videos as outsider witches. While looking into where great former YG TRAINEES have gone after leaving them, see also BILLLIE who has 10 years long former trainee rapper Moon Sua (placed 4th on Unpretty Rapstar years ago when she was just 17, her brother was in ASTRO). Like PURPLE KISS they are also musically versatile with title tracks. They are under Mystic Story, a sublabel of SM (except their music is arguably better thsn what SM has put out the past 2 years, and their lore is weird and freaky instead of cheesy). Their music videos have ongoing mystery lore storyline. Check out crazy debut RING X RING or rockin RING MA BELL or poppy Y2K esque 2023 song EUNOIA. Best b-sides are B'RAVE A SONG FOR MATILDA performance video on OOTV KZbin channel and NEVERTHELESS color coded lyrics vids. Their Japanese main dancer Tsuki famously had a viral fancam for GingaMingaYo with rapidly changing facial expressions that got her i vited on many variety shows, also the moon bunny princess od kawaii and aegyo when she's not being a fierce dancer. FROMIS_9 rapper / singer / lead dancer / b-side songwriter Soyeon was a former YG TRAINEE around same time as Chaein of PURPLE KISS and BILLLIE Moon Sua (Soyeon & Sua started there earlier than Chaein, all 3 were part of famous Future 2ne1 trainee group). Group known for sincere vocals in summertime bops like #menow, DM, WE GO, FEEL GOOD, and cracked out song and mv LOVE BOMB & FUN! as well as great b-sides with performance videos or special videos REWIND, ESCAPE ROOM, ATTITUDE, AIRPLANE MODE and WEATHER. Watch variety shows and extra channel content for Chaeyoung antics doing impressions of members or ASMR video by Roh Jisun (BABYMONSTER Rora looks like she could be her younger sister). Main vocal Jiwon in your face loud idol from Busan is great but I love Soyeon's unique vocals. Lead vocal Hayoung is known for her high dolphin notes (see end of DM) kinda like Belle does in KISS OF LIFE debut Shhh...

No they cut some trainees off. But not 7members as publicly introduce. If you noticed at Introduction's vdo, more than 20 kids in the evaluation room. And at least 10 members in this project. Just liked Blackpink, they started at 9trainees end up with 4.

You also talked about going back to blackpink. That is why me and others recommended watching this. There is nothing like this for blackpink. This is “special” I guess. Tonnes of blackpink content. But it’s not singing. I’m all for it. Watch blackpink house. If you like seeing Lisa and Jennie in this you will like it. I’ll watch every episode. But again it’s very different to your usual music reactions.

Like I said I’m all for it. Maybe you have but from what you have posted you still haven’t seen the real girls. Even in this they are basically working. Dance videos are just dancing. A guide could be worth it because it shows many different things. 2019 I think the best still up. Blackpink house is just them being themselves. But no real singing. @TheRealMcCoyReacts62812 I have always thought YG was probably the strongest label at recruiting talent, but they are horrible at managing their artists. Even if these are the 2 weakest members, you're only stacking the deck against them more by treating them this way. Now there is a lot of talk Ahyeon hasn't been seen with the other members recently and they've changed the logo from BABYMONS7ER to BABYMONSTER. When asked about it, YG said the members were preparing for their debut, and when specifically asked about Ahyeon, they said she was preparing for her debut. She was my bias and if she isn't a part of the group, it will not help them. Of course, knowing YG it could be another marketing scheme, but manufacturing drama for publicity isn't cool either.

I should stop but I want to add I agree with him. 7 is a lot. It makes each members time in each song less. Which I don’t like. But no way I could choose who to remove. They are all amazing. Even blackpink I can’t decide a favourite with only 4. And that’s before you see the personal side. YG did a great job of making us love these girls. Even if you have a favourite I think most people couldn’t pick one they don’t like.

I did. However, it was unfortunately taken down by youtube about 10 hours after I posted it. I guess because of it being a youtube exclusive, I believe. I tried, though. Haha.

I still think 4-5 was a better choice, 7 is just too much. As a fan you kinda lose focus and just tend to have 1 or 2 members you focus on (bias) BP was just good. Just look at Destiny's Child when they were a 3 member group. Anyone remember the 3rd? And the 3rd member did have a good voice. If you know what I mean.
