This is something YG is really good at. Getting people hype for a group’s debut. They show a taste of their talent, and then clips showcasing their personality. It gets fans invested in the girls themselves and creates a connection before they even drop any music. That was what made Blackpink so big was the fan’s connections to the girls themselves. So if I was a 4th Gen girl group, I would be nervous seeing what these girls are bringing. Babymonster is coming!

BABYMONSTER was formed in 2020. The name was listed. From 2017-2020 there have been many girls who came to YG but left as they either weren't good enough or gave up. YG has the highest expectations in kpop. Naturally they seek the best as you guys may know other YG groups who made kpop to what it is today. 1TYM, JINUSEAN, BIGBANG, 2NE1, AKMU, PSY, WINNER, IKON, BLACKPINK and TREASURE. Funfact . YG entertainment boss Yang Hyun suk was in the first idol group in Korea setting off this whole entertainment gerne. He is one of 3 forefathers of kpop. Made YG entertainment, a hiphop based agency that slowly developed a knack for R&b, pop, EDM, house, ballet, country, rock, soul, reggae, in 1996. Tro8gh the years YG entertainment has been the gamechanger in kpop. They set themselves apart by not making idol factory like music. Its quality over quantity. The first agency to give controle to artist and let them participate in music process and directing too. It set YG "dont make idols but artist" slogan tonight kpop. Many agency like HYBE followed YG way of training. ( look up CEO of bighit talking about YG entertainment).

Some of these were made 2/3 years ago, not all were very recent. Some of these videos also come from their individual monthly evaluations, where they just have to showcase their abilities to stay as trainees. You have to imagine how much they’ve grown from that point to be able to eventually also debut.

Some information: 1.Chiquita is not the first idol to debut at such a young age, she will also be 14 in February, In Generations 1 and 2 many idols debut at a young age for example soloists BOA, IU, the maknae of the KARA group, FX crystal, they debut at 13-14 years old It's just that didn't happen in the 3rd generation, and the 4th generation debuted like the 1st and 2nd generation 2. When it comes to KPOP YG always changing their styles or let's say started something then others followed YG giving some glimpse of their girlgroup trainees before debuting but now they officially introducing each members when it comes to their boygroups they have to do the survival show cause all YG boygroups came from survival show but of course YG trainees only

The ones that you see their names on them is monthly evaluations. The ones that you don't see the name tags are performance videos. Since they didn't put the dates on the videos, some could be as recent as a year ago and some are two to three years. The introduction videos for each of the members that YG has been dropping shows their personality, skills, and interaction with other members. So far there is Ruka,. Pharita, and Rora. Each one is like a mini-documentary. Each one is about nine minutes long and you really start to connect with the members from those videos. As far as a leader goes, they could be like Blackpink and decided that there won't be a leader and that they treat each other as equals. Since Blackpink is their older sister group and it seems that Lisa and Jennie was there to mentor some of the members, it would make sense if Babymonster decided that they don't need one person as a leader.

Don’t know if you guys saw their introduction video called “ YG’s next movement " but in there you guys get a glimpse of all 7 members together! You’ll also get a lot of HUGE YG artists talking about them. Lisa And Jennie are their mentors alongside LeeJung Lee, LeeJung is one of YG’s best dancers/teacher. And their shorter name is “ Baemon “ Lisa has also taken the Thai members under her wing and is teaching them/taking care of them, They’ve been seen hanging out together grabbing can’t remember if it was boba tea or ice cream lol but yeah! These girls are going to be a HUGE problem to the kpop Industry.. problem in a GOOD WAY! the talent they all have is insane.

Fun fact, The name "Baby Monster" was one of the options alongside with Pinkpunk and others for consideration before but they decided it to be BLΛƆKPIИK instead. Jennie & Rosé mention it in one of their interviews or quiz game i dont remember.

YG havent come out with any official positions for the members yet, so anyone saying anything different is just making assumptions or accepting rumours as facts, just an FYI. The members being as young as they are i expect they will target a younger teenage audience so might not be for me, but damn there is no denying their individual talents, so i'll be her day one when their debut comes. And if its not for me, i'll patiently and excitedly look forward to hearing them in a few years. I'm already impatiently looking forward to Asa's solo project though! I think YG is fomming up with something new. Like blackpink no leader. Like winner where maknae is leader Like ikon where leader is main producer. BABYMONSTER might not have positions. Haven't you noticed YG is showcasing dance, vocal and some rap from each trainee? I think they are all round but strong in some fields. That can change in time so assigning positions might be pointless. Blackpink positions have changed too. Lisa can do vocals and jenie shifted from rap to vocalist too. Jisoo rapped in few occasions. Who knows!☺🖤

Chiquita will be 14 when they debut she turned 14 the other day. But to answer your question: no it’s not abnormal for a 14 to debut. It is however very criticized these days. The 2nd generation of kpop had a lot of teenager debuts.

You can pronounce HARAM with "A" like you pronounce LISA. Same with Pharita, Rora, Ahyeon, Chiquita, Asa, Ruka. The "A" is like when you pronounce KOREA so it's not "ei" but "A"

I'm a Korean born in Korea, and fyi some of this is incorrect. This is the correct way: Asa- AH (like when you tell a child to say ahhh to eat medicine) SAH (Same AHHH sound) AH-SAH Ahyeon- AH (same AHHH sound) YUHN (the UH sound is like when you say run, fun, gun, pun, hun etc) AH-YUHN Haram- HA (Like the laugh haha) RAHM (AHHH+M Sound again) HA-RAHM. For Asa and Haram, the AHHHHH sound is consistent in both syllables. The A (AH) sound doesn't need to be changed in the second syllable of the word. It shouldn't go from AH to UH, which is why AH-SUH and HAH-RUM is incorrect. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to help.

Being that they are all too talented it will be hard to showcase each talent in a single song. Which means, creating any song… will limit each of their ability.

Yeah, although if they're given more songs, and allow members to stand out more in one song or another it could be done. They can also allow subsections of the group to make songs. There are ways to do it. It's just a question of whether or not YG will allow for it. The other concern I have is that with their talent level, I worry that YG may also not bring the writing talent to back it up. Like with their vocalists, you need some deeper, more emotional songs to really bring out their talent. With Asa, you need intricate rhyme structure and lots of doubles and triples, anything less will waste that flow.

Why American always compare Kpop singers to Michael Jackson when someone is really good at dancing but dance genres are completely different? This dance is hiphop and tutting so this is nothing to do with Michael Jackson. Also, most of Kpop singers’ dance is not based on Michael Jackson. Most of their dole models are Bts and Black Pink. I hope they can respect how hard they practice and how versatile Kpop dances.
