@xdvertaxx5442 quite unpopular ...not sure what your Def of popular is...the most viewed debut in 24hrs in kpop history. So many records. And you must be a kid. It wasn't like BP, it was like yg, because they debuted with a homage to yg. Even the 10yo's knew that.

Yes it got many views and it broke records, but it also got a lot of hate bc the Melody was „to“ similar to Lisa’s solo song & bc the mv had many moments with similar background as other bp songs. I like batter up (it’s on my playlist) but it was definitely not welcomed by netizen bc of the reason I already mentioned. They deserve something different like a ballad(stuck in the middle). Pls think about ur logic before calling me a kid🙂

YG listened and gave them something different. They really did a great job with the song and it suited their voices and sounded sweet - I am fine with ballads.... but to me, it was quite a throwback sound that whilst nice and pretty, isn't really giving them the current musical identity that I had hoped for this group. Agree about their being more musical expression, but I didn't really feel who they were from the song. Hope next they can be given the chance to explore a more current sound that expresses their own personalities more, as I think they will kill it. However, maybe I have it all wrong and this song did express who they aspire to be as artists - and if that is so, i am sure there will definitely be an audience for them, as their vocals are great.

This is actually not too different and absolutely not what YG didn't do in the past cos this is sooo YG ballad with BigBang (specially Taeyang's) ballads and 2NE1 ballads but with some upgraded instrumentations... It's just giving 2nd gen YG vibe but with an upgrade. So I think what YG actually meant is this "Video". Cos trust me after following YG for 15-16 years I haven't seen this kind of "Disney" ish video from YG and actually never expected from them 😂
