Yes, there were 6 members in "Boca" because the Chinese member, Handong, was in China at the time but she was back by time they did "Odd Eye", and you saw her there. They did an actual anime opening called "Eclipse". There's an MV. It's one of their Japanese title tracks. As you'd probably expect the Japanese songs are even harder. That's where they got to experiment most with metal. They have a Japanese single called "No More" that's straight up j-metal and their hardest song to date. All of their title tracks since debut (2017) incorporate some style of rock. Their b-sides, however, span all genres.

The names are also in the "BOCA" MV but you have to select the subtitle "English (United States)" or "English (United Kingdom)". It's only missing on the standard "English" subtitle. For part 1 of the trilogy "Scream" MV the names are in the standard "English" subtitle. It you chose "English (United Kingdom)" they are again missing. In the "Deja Vu" MV there is only one "English" subtitle track and this includes the names also.

Welcome to the black hole! You're gonna love it here and won't ever leave. And the only sane thing you can done now is to react to all of their discography. There are no bad songs, and their genres differ greatly, especially among the b-sides. Only a few of them are actually close to the mainstream k-pop. They even went full speed/power metal at least a couple of times, but I won't spoil the names of the songs, because there are no reasons to cherrypick - just go for all of it. Don't worry about this reaction being "weird" or something. I am noticeably older than you and usually am very calm and reserved guy, who both seen some shit and listened to a LOT of different music. But nothing breaks me down as they do, no other group plays directly on my soul. They are completely different from all there is, and I don't mean only k-pop. The beginning of BOCA sounding somewhat standard for a k-pop song is one of their favorite tricks. They fill you with a false sense of security and familiarity, and then bam! There is a b-side Trap that probably does that best, there are no clip or anything, only lyrics video. You've mentioned personality and attitude and you have literally no idea how right you are. There is a channel called "Insomnicsy" with the series of videos called "This is [Name]", for each of 7 members, and for each year since 2020 to 2024 for now, so 35 videos. Newer ones are not making older obsolete, they all are unique. And their personalities do really shine through there, so I really recommend them to you, to get to know them better, to remember the names and the faces and to laugh your ass off for a long time. It is completely normal to come in for incredible music and to stay locked forever because of their hilarious personalities. Also, while their MVs are impeccable, othen other versions of the same songs are more than worthy to watch. They have relay dance videos for almost all of their title tracks (and Abracadabra, but you are not prepared, no one ever is), and they are so good that I don't have words. Justice is really notable in this account. First, their Justice showcases are incredibly interesting with them being able to fill in for their main vocal Siyeon, who is obviously monstrously powerful, and that is an achievement in itself. Second, there is "It's live" version with a live band, where they do not dance, but concentrate on pure vocals, and you can imagine how mind-bogglingly good that is. Third, there is "1theK" version, I won't spoil what happens there but that is literally the best audiovisual experience I had, ever. Also about Justice, you've said that it feels that they fight some evil. That's right, and the evil they fight is k-pop industry and its standards. This becomes obvious after watching OOTD, first part of the two-parter storyline that is finished by Justice. In OOTD, which is a title track from the "VillainS" album, they ironically display the straightforward mainstream appearance and style of life of the fucked up modern stars, and then in Justice from the "VirtuouS" album they show that it is possible to keep own identity and stay good, not falling into the vanity trap of shallow crap. "I want to see how good are they live" - they are even better live. Seriously, the group is insane and sometimes I can't believe that they exist.

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song? Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". I can only recommend to keep reacting to them, they are always interesting and entertaining! And the song is a banger! Justice is part two of a two-part series, the first one is OOTD, which intentionally sounds very differently. While OOTD was about falling for the temptations of modern life and a satire on narcissism (especially influencers and fast fashion), I believe Justice is telling us to fight those temptations for a better world. It is a call to become a warrior for good in the world and fight the materialism that seems to be the most important thing for so many people in the developed countries. You can see JiU break the bonds that hold her down, and we should do the same. There are also many references to their older MVs in this. The paintings also have a deeper meaning in Chase me, there is a sword in Deja Vu and Scream, the bite into the apple is a callback to BEcause and the tree to the Dystopia trilogy - and so on. There are many more. Musically, I love the song. The guitars in the pre-chorus and chorus are pure heaven (just like Dongie with her wings). It has the right amount of heaviness for me, and it is an anthem and a call to action. I also love that they shortened the pre-chorus by two bars in the second half, throwing us into the chorus early. Justice is a brilliant, epic release, showing everyone that a group can still produce fantastic music and MVs after seven and a half years.

Justice is my fight song last year. I was in a car accident. I need major surgery. The insurance company have been well. Anything but helpful but very stressful. They accepted my injury but refused to pay for any out-of-pocket expenses. I guess this is what CPT is like in Australia. Next stop I was insured at the time so next stop is going through that insurance once I get a good lawyer to do that but boy doesn’t take its toll on. You mentally met. A few of their songs do sound very anime - among them, Deja Vu is pretty unique and sounds like an anime ED. It's a collab with a fantasy mobile game. I feel like Justice kinda tries to recreate its sound. Not sure how you find groups for the Patreon polls, but ARTMS has some very unique releases and I think you'd enjoy them - Birth, and Virtual Angel. Both horror-esqe, though easy to miss in the latter (which has an extremely unique, and polarizing, MV).

BOCA is a great first listen, it goes hard :) Dystopia Part 1 is "Scream" which I can't recommend enough. If you fancy diving in at the deep end, they're doing a christmas concert on the 25th which will be live streamed on My Music Taste; Dreamcatcher [7 Doors of Christmas: A Lucky Encore] Very cool that you mentioned Visual Kei and L'Arc en Ciel, their debut and earlier music is more jrock inspired and it's called the Nightmare series which I'm sure someone has already listed in the comments :) Oh! you were wondering about who produces their music; i just discovered your channel so i'm not sure if you're familiar with the boy group ATEEZ, but dreamcatcher & ateez actually share a lot of the same music producers/composers! so if you're ever listening to a DC or ATZ song and are thinking "wow this sound is so weird and shouldn't work but it does," it's those genius producers of theirs!! 🥰 on a different subject, dreamcatcher has been pioneering the rock sound (and dare i say also horror/dark concepts, especially in girl groups!) in kpop since their debut in 2017. they debuted with a rock song that was accompanied by a horror music video, and i can tell you that absolutely no one else in kpop was doing anything like that at the time. these girls have taken a lot of huge risks and gambles, but their boldness has ultimately rewarded them with the current success that they've created for themselves. i love them so much and i am entirely confident in saying that there will never be another kpop group like dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher's main genre is rock music. All of their titles stay in rock music, but you can expect every other genre in their side tracks. From their debut song Chase Me until the title What are pure rock. I think they began to adapt rock with other genres since You and I. In Boca, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic. Handong, the Chinese member was in China, that's why she couldn't perform with her group.
