Some unlucky things happened to Big Bang last year. Daesung involved in a fatal car accident and GD was caught using marijuana (though it was only a very small amount and he didn't know the cigerette that some random guy gave him at a club had marijuana in it) Both of them were clear off any charges but Big Bang had to halt all activites. They came back as five at YG Family Concert in December and Alive album in February this year.
