For anyone and everyone confused as to why Wesker needs Ada if he was already in the area. Wesker wants to keep himself hidden to prevent anyone from interfering. He doesn't need the BSAA after him especially this early into his plans.

I love the sound track of this DLC, but the last scene really got me. The theme that plays as Ada is leaving in helicopter, One last kiss, I recognized it immediately and it made me so happy. It feels even more fitting here than it would’ve been in the RE2 remake. It’s a great signifier of the uncertain future between the two and brings allure for what’s to come.

I love the soundtrack too. It brings nostalgia. The soundtrack is from the original Resident evil 2 from the first ps1 and n64. And yes if Ada at least gave Leon one last kiss before she went on that helicopter. Sad but a good way to follow a uncertain future for both of them if they were to see each other again. This would of shown that Ada truly did have strong emotions for him and she wanted him to go with her in that chopper and eventually she would betray Wesker in front of Leon and prove him that she changed as well since Racoon city. Would of been nic to see these two characters have a future together. And yes i know its a fictional game but that would of been a good closure for the audience.

I love how Ada’s betrayal is finally recognized in the end scene, the original writing left it so ambiguous. Here it’s clear cut that Ada decides to break off her partnership with Wesker once she learns his intentions to kill billions. It further proves the point that Ada is indeed an undercover spy, or at the very least does have humanitarian nature dwelling beneath her facade. It fits well with her narrative as by RE6 she’s gone completely rouge from the bioterrorism industry, Separate Ways shows how Ada completely ascends to superspy extraordinaire.

Ada is a mercenary, a very expensive one. However, unlike many mercenaries working from Umbrella, Wesker, Tricell or whatever name Capcom wants to give the big baddie, Ada has A) Talent to survive the stuff she walks in and B) certain level of morality that normally makes her mission twice as hard.

@@Veridiano02 You’re definitely right about her principles, Ada usually has to conceal her humanitarian nature because the mission and her handlers will see through her guise. But Ada is in all intents and purposes: a spy through and through, reaching superspy extraordinaire by RE6. Mercenaries like HUNK or Carlos never used gadgets, insider knowledge, informants like Bertolucci, and they most certainly do not infiltrate on their own. Especially a good a top notch merc like HUNK, he relied on no one else once his team was killed as a liability. Whereas Ada included allies into her mindset if it serves her agenda. This all fits the modus operandi of a spy. Which Ada has also spied for multiple organizations like the Organization itself, Simmons under the NSA, and has infiltrated other companies like Umbrella to spy on them. So at times Ada has even been undercover, or working as a double agent. Again, mercenaries like Krauser don’t operate in that manner, they are solely loyal to once cause or organization. Where Ada plays multiple agencies in one mission. Especially Wesker, she wasn’t working for him for financial gain, as an undercover spy working to infiltrate the bioweapons industry, she used her access under him to inquire into his future plans. Which we see her ask about by the end of RE4R, betraying him once she got the answer she was looking for, she was fishing for intelligence. Mercenaries don’t seek out intelligence, they act on information that’s already been provided. Ada is 110% a spy. The only reason why she is assumed to be a merc by individual like Annette Birkin is because Ada was competing against mercenaries. To which Annette was aware multiple players were trying to infiltrate the NEST, so she assumed everyone, even Leon was a merc out to get her because she was delusional by the end of RE2/2R.

And they almost most certainly don’t betray their employer as it’s the literal basis of their career, to get paid to do the work. So why would Ada betray all of her employers? Because that’s what spies do. They work for rivals while secretly reporting back to their actual employer. That’s what Ada has done for pretty much all of her outings. RE2 she romances John and infiltrates Umbrella’s Chicago branch to get closer to the NEST in Raccoon City, stealing G for a rival organization. Again, mercs don’t do that sort of field work before a mission, they’re assigned and deploy immediately. Spies gather intelligence, sleuth around the assigned area, and strategically infiltrate the premise. As we literally see Ada do in RE2R with her gadgets and pre-planning to infiltrate NEST via the EMF Visualizor. RE4 she appears to be working with Wesker, but even says herself that she is just using him for the Organization and was secretly working with Wesker to spy on him on their behalf. Thus why she betrays him by the end of RE4. While RE6 sees her taking down her ex employer because he’s threatened by her. Mercenaries don’t defy orders or betray their employers, that is the modus operandi of a spy.

Furthermore I just want to point out a few other points that proves Ada has been acting as an industrial spy/undercover agent since her debut, while being mixed up with mercenaries and bioterrorist. Her inspiration *La Femme Nikita* is a black ops government assassin in all of her iterations. Using her appeal and illustrious charm to infiltrate the criminal underground on behalf of her government agency. Going undercover. The very same premise is applied to Ada Wong, she’s an ambiguous and illustrious industrial spy known throughout the criminal underworld as a cutthroat spy. She’s privy to betray her employers if their ill intentions cross her deeply rooted humanitarian nature and is known to work undercover for other agencies, while also using false identities to hide her own interests. RE2R: Ada first presents herself as an FBI agent, a guise to mislead local authorities about her investigation into Umbrella, which her ulterior motive is to steal G for a rival. The trench coat, shades and FBI cover is a direct nod to the espionage and spy-noire genre. The outfit is designed to make the player feel like she’s an FBI agent in the late 90’s. Until she removes the guise and reveals her illustrious persona: Ada Wong RE: Damnation: Ada uses a BSAA Attaché cover to infiltrate Belikova’s laboratories, until her cover is blown by the president of course. But again, even after +10 years after Raccoon she’s still using disguises. There isn’t a merc in the entire franchise that uses false personas or disguises to fulfill their agenda or objectives. Even individuals like Raymond Vester and Jessica Sherawat were spies. Jessica was using her position at the FBC to steal samples for Excella. While Raymond, an agent like Jill or Chris was counter-investigating Jessica’s deceit. Resident Evil has a mixture of espionage, para-military, and international crime elements that all respond to biological warfare because they’re all linked to the biological manufacturing industry. Whether it’s spies like Ada hired to manipulate an outbreak conspiracy, mercs like HUNK or Jake Muller that are hired to combat the outbreak, or officers like Chris or Jill who investigate the events surrounding the conspiracy.

Or maybe Did she think, for example, that she was sent to steal a sample of a dangerous virus because Wesker wanted to save the world with it? And let's not forget another piece of stupidity when Wesker answered her question and told her his life plans for no specific reason Ada: What are you planing to do with this? Wesker: I'll kill a lot of people Ada: Oh no you're bad, we're changing course🤡

It’s just poor writing no matter what anyone else tries to say, love the game but soon as I seen wesker with his boots on the ground it was made clear whoever green lit this idea wasn’t the brightest. I kind of hope too, because Wesker is my fav character in the series. It depends what they're doing in the remakes. Wesker send Ada to get the Amber in secret, out of BSAA and Government's sight, but that took long enough, he change his mind, knowing Ada might change her mind, playing her own game, might knowing Leon could kill Klause, he took his body and try to blow up the continent so no one could find the evident about the parasite or thinking that he took Klause's body, also could kill Sadler in progress so only Wesker can become the only one who can dominate the world. I think Wesker should step in the game in the first place, but I guess he didnt have the intention to kill anyone there, just lurking in the shadows to get the amber from place he doesn't familiar with, he know Ada will be close with Luis, send her to get the Amber from him, which made his plan force him to wait even longer, but with the intelligent that Ada had then, he step in to play the game.

Since the cutscenes are not a fixed movie (unlike the original), it would be nice if those repeated cutscenes (that are the same as in the main story of Leon), are shown in different camera angles.

It would appear writers forget their own canon. Ada does not go after the Las plagas for Wesker. She does it for the organization. Wesker and Ada work for the organization. He started to work for them soon after betraying umbrella. The organization started to distrust Wesker so they sent Ada as both are connected to her. After obtaining the sample, Ada was supposed to deliver it to them. Btw, out of all the things they could have retconned, they did not retcon Wesker soon to become a doomsday villain. He was much better when he wasn't a doomsday villain.
