@@Jademoon25 I like to think Hojo's notes were somewhat insane and that's why Seph cane away sincerely thinking Jenova was an ancient and was his actual mother. There has to be an alternate timeline where he dismissed Hojo's nonsense and read Lucrecia's notes instead. He then freed Vincent and destroyed Jenova. He also convinced Cloud to reveal himself and pursue Tifa. Oh, and he held the camera while Vincent murdered Hojo. I like to think that anyway.

@@raulsouza5866 yea, lucretia may be his mother but he was also injected with jenova cells while he was still in the womb (which caused lucretia to see glimpses of the fall of nibleheim) those jenova cells had a lot more influence into sephiroth's mind. It's also why jenova attracted him. Because those jenova cells were basically a parasitic hivemind. Had sephiroth *not* been injected with jenova cells then he likely wouldn't have turned evil. But those jenova cells pretty much took control of his mind and caused him to go crazy

FenrirTheAshenWolf Yeah Cloud was kinda a goof ball in the original game, he cracked jokes but always maintained a Cynical attitude, especially when talking about battle tactics, a good example of his goofball attitude is when he Calls Barret a “Bear wearing a marshmallow” when he was in his sailor uniform. An example of his cynicism would be when he tells the party that they will all die when facing Shinra’s robots.

I actually have a feeling that Sephiroth won't be the main antagonist in the remake. It would very interesting to see where the remake is going. I was kinda annoyed with the fact that i knew everything that was going to happen even if the remake shakes thing up with extended content. I like the idea of anything goes moving forward. Doesn't mean the overall plot will change but still interesting and builds more excitement for the next games to come.

But I do think that the ending will different than that of the original. Battles will be different since the first part ended with a dual between sephiroth and cloud. Cloud tried omnislash just like the original but in this case sephiroth blocked it. They will not repeat it. Also, Aerith may (will) not die in the remake.

Saw a character alignment video on Sephiroth that shows his descent. 1. Sephiroth works for Shinra, but with no real purpose. 2. A fight with the AVALANCHE leader in Before Crisis where he was posed a question on why he fights. 3. Close bonds and friendships with Angeal and Genesis. His friends are his motivation now. All is good. 4. Genesis defects. 5. Angeal defects. But Zack is a new friend. Try to form bonds with this group. 6. Angeal dies. 7. Sephiroth finds the truth about his origins. 8. Genesis just wants his cells. What kind of friend is this? 9. Sephiroth becomes jaded and soon snaps. His closest friends are basically frauds. 10. Focus on Mother. She won't betray him, because he controls her will now too.

I think instead of the gruff voice they wanted a creepy, wispy voice. And with Sephiroths huge obsession with cloud and the all around lurking around in the shadows, I think it fits the remakes version of Sephiroth perfectly. At this point we all know that this is not the same Sephiroth stuck up in the mountains, this one is more lucid and intelligent. So I like the creepy vibe the new voice actor gives off. It’s more mysterious and fits that the fact that we have no idea what’s up with the ending to the remake.

SEPHIROTH had all these amazing powers and Genes from being spliced with Jenova and he knew he was different from the other and it made him lonely. every one feared or worshipped him which he didn't want, he wanted to be human and finding out he was an generic experiment crushed what little he had about feeling human.

If only... Sephiroth and Cloud could have heard the same exact words, maybe things might have had a different turn. Maybe they could have helped Sephiroth instead of antagonizing him. He could have been their greatest ally in times of strife, who comes and goes as he pleases like Phoenix Ikki from Saint Seiya.

I find it interesting that Sephiroth seems to act more friendly to Cloud then Zack. With Zack he seems disinterested in all but the mission but with Cloud he's curious about his childhood home. Could be that Zack is a soldier directly under his command while Cloud is his Batman (personal servant).

Actually in the other cutscenes he cracks a few jokes with Zack and they actually started to become friends through the betrayal of the other 1st class soldiers.

He actually becomes quite a bit of a buddy to Zack later on, he even reveals to Zack that he may defect if it means reuniting with his friends (Genesis and Angeal) again, something that would take an insurmountable amount of trust to divulge, and Zack was the only person to have been told this information.

1st: Hojo knew full well Jenova wasn’t an ancient Gast found that out not too long after the Jenova project started. 2nd: sephirtoths mental issues stem from being experimented on as a fetus and growing up and going by real world logic mental illness can also be hereditary. Both Hojo and Lucrecia suffer from some pretty severe mental illnesses so it’s no wonder sephiroth went nuts. He may be the perfect soldier physically but mentally the dude is off his rocker.

To this day I remember when I heard Sephiroth say to Nibelhiem, I remember saying oh God no, not now it's to soon. I honestly thought they would do a few random missions together, before the great tragedy happens, before Cloud was always devoid of emotion, before Tifa lost everyone except for Cloud, before Sephiroth became one of the most evil characters in gaming history, and before Zack ever got to see Aerith one last time.

You know, I looovee the portrayal of normal Sephiroth here in CC. He was so elegant,intelligent with calm demeanor, always speaks very gently, and yes he can be aloof at times with *gasp* a dry humour!. But it irks me when some young new FF7 fans only judge him as this 'problematic villain', and even though when they watch CC custscenes, some of them still think Sephiroth has a personality of a 'cardboard'. Good God youngins, just because someone is mature, strong and silent & not the silly, ultra extroverted person like Zack doesn't mean they don't have a personality. Try to grow out of your Disney phase so you can actually see things that are not just 'black & white' & the meaning of 'having a personality' does not equal 'Happy,positive,extrovert,spazzy,love,smile,sunshine,rainbows, super nice gary stu'.

I think they mean more this fan-fictiony version which they have pushed sometimes. The one who speaks some cheesy villain lines, but calmly. And is strong, like many other villains. CC Sephy is indeed more deep and OG game had this "Eldrich Abomination"-factor. At least personally I find this "fan-fiction" Sephiroth flat villain compared to his OG performance who didn't need cheesy lines to be villainous.
