@@casperl.3891 no, you can't compare andreas scholl with either of the two singers either. Because you have never heard either of them and they were both castrati. Comparing a countertenor with a castrato would be like comparing apples with tomatoes.

Castrates sang high because they had small children's larynxes and because they had full-grown male bodies in adulthood, they had enormous air volume. That is why they could sing the longest coloraturas effortlessly. However, a countertenor sings high because he needs a different singing technique than, for examples, a tenor or bass. Tenors, basses etc. Sing mainly in the chest voice. Countertenors, however, sing mainly in the head voice, as woman do.

Poignant, pénétrant, soigné et pieux au possible...Serviteur absolu du plus grand des Kantor. Desservi par une acoustique des plus hasardeuse et une prise de son assez cahotique.

Das kann ich absolut nicht nachvollziehen. Andreas scholl hat eine wunderbare stimme, gepaart mit einer wohl grossartigen ausbildung und obendrein ist er kaum anders zu beschreiben als als musikalisches genie. Wenn man ihn hört, ist das, wie wenn er mit einem bein auf der erde wäre und mit dem anderen im himmel stände, als ob er die musik vom himmel eingespiesen bekäme. Ist es wirklich möglich, dass es leute gibt, die das nicht hören können??????????????

To state that Jarousky is more interesting seems not quite the same as stating that Schõll is terrible.
