Bach - Cantate BWV 36a - Steigt freudig in die Luft

In 1725 Bach wrote a new congratulatory cantata, known as Bwv 36c. The next year he presented a new version for a different person, Bwv 36a. The absence of a chorus in this recording works because of Bach's light and spare orchestral backing. When Bach writes for a full orchestra, only a choir will suffice.
