There's no way to have a 'superior' AI youtuber, because KZbin is so personal. Ten different creators could make a video about the same thing, or even more specific, could all react to the exact same video, but with completely different viewers. You watch KZbin for the people primarily, not for the content necessarily. For example, I've never played golf, never had any interest in playing golf, never watched a golf tournament, but you best believe I'm subscribed to Big Wedge and really enjoy the content they create.

I defo agree that creatively driven people in that field are so much safer than those in STEM related ones. I i couldnt everrrr see ai being able to form the same human x human relationships, connections, and attachments we have with each other - mainly down to the fact that we have the knowledge they’re artificial. personally any ai art, literature, or any media really, feels so lifeless (obviously…)because there’s nothing to admire. I love reading & being able to sit in awe that a human has spent time thinking those thoughts n being able to articulate it the way they do lol. art (generally, not just traditional) is far too human for ai to replicate effectively

With the AI creator topic, id say one of the reasons which would make me always prefer human creators is their reliability. An AI may be funny but it will never go outside and post vlogs, recognisable english places etc. For example i watch this podcast knowing that i could see bach and arthur irl at a show and get interactions which i dont think would be as achievable with ai, an AI will never be have this relatable authentic feel to it that youtubers do

Hii, listening to the podcast about AI and the domestic bots you were talking about and asking for a movie recommendation so I’d say watch “Subservience”. It was released earlier this month. When his wife becomes sick, a struggling father buys a lifelike AI android named Alice to help with the housework. Things seem fine until Alice suddenly becomes self-aware and wants everything its new family has to offer, including the affection of its owner.

Another issue with AI art is that it steals and takes art from genuine people and creators. None of its original and it’s just theft honestly. I wish people would stop using it for this, even album covers 💔
@kaiadeangelis3102 ай бұрын
there’s something so disheartening about finding art that was created by ai because art is unique to every artist which is what makes it so human and what makes it so enjoyable. people who put time and effort into their craft (whether it’s videos or art or whatever) will always have my support and I will always connect with better than something that was created by ai because part of the beauty is how much time, effort and emotion was spent on it

56:06 with this point specifically for actors, there's been "talk" about replacing extras in films with AI, which is huge for people who aren't already famous or nepo babies. In america especially being an extra is what gives new actors experience and gets their name out, if background characters were replaced with AI it'd take a lot longer for any new actors to get into hollywood or anything. Then of course theres the whole using famous actor's likeness and putting it on other people for the name. ((also I am fucking loving this podcast guys❤❤))

Really interesting conversation around AI. I am studying in the natural language processing field and I feel that the biggest take away i've gotten is that AI models (large language models) such as chatgpt are not as smart as they appear. They don't really "think" or "reason" in the way humans do. They're really just predicting the most probable answer based on the data they've seen, which is very different from how humans reason and learn. I feel that AI with emotion and feeling is not within reach based on current technology. Would love to hear more about what you guys think on the topic. Great pod!

So interesting! You two should listen to a podcast called rehash. They have multiple episodes on AI, NFTs and specifically AI p0rn which i thought was very inciteful. As we are seeing popping up, the need to disclose use of AI and legal regulations in creative industries such as film is increasing and we saw that with the writers strike so i think there will be means to delay AI domination when it comes to disenfranchisement.
@bottobi3 ай бұрын
The thing with AI is that it will never be able to (or it's very unlikely at the least) have subjective experiences, and because of that, I think it'll be very hard for it to surpass humans on things like art and literature, where subjectivity lies at the foundation of both its creation and others people's enjoyment of it. I disagree with the fact that people would choose cheaper AI art over hand drawn, more expensive art, mainly because having been in those spaces there's a massive pushback against AI use and consumption in art anyway, and because people value human skill and talent more. Sure, AI could potentially make something objectively better in the future, but it would never be able to create something more meaningful. It may be able to replicate certain art or writing styles, but it will never be able to replicate the human emotions behind it and the subjective experiences that led to its creation. And that's the whole point of art imo. A message is being portrayed, whether it's a conscious decision or not, the artists/authors' opinions, and experiences, and thoughts are being reflected onto their work and are laid bare for us to interpret, and AI will never have those experiences for us to then see. Art isn't just a creation, it's a piece of the creator's soul (as dramatic as that sounds). It's like you can tell when someone's poured their heart and soul into something, regardless of whether it's 'good' or not. The same way you can see when someone's been lazy and done something as a very obvious cash grab or for clout. People will be able to feel the lack of humanity in AI art. It may be beautiful, but it'll be soulless. The thing Bach said about AI computing their own versions of emotions is interesting, and I do see that, but it will never be able to reach the depths of human emotions. We have so many biological factors and hormones that elicit certain responses that can't be replicated through commands in AI. Idk if I'm making sense, but I hope I am. And I just can't ever imagine AI writing a novel as good as some of my faves. Yes it may be able to replicate the writing styles and whatnot, but the beauty of humans is that we're irrational and impulsive creatures, in the way we emote and with arts/literature especially; a single formula or pattern isn't always followed and artists themselves spontaneously decide to switch things up sometimes and I don't think AI will be able to produce something that encompasses all that, no matter how advanced they become. There's an intrinsic uniqueness to humans that no other species or AI can replicate or mirror no matter how much they try. And the whole thing about consciousness as well, which I won't get into. I'm studying it this year in uni, and it's so difficult to conceptualise because it's not empirical. We know consciousness is a thing, but we can't observe it or conclusively define it.

Fun story (not for the faint of heart): I used to work in an emergency room on night shift through the start of Covid and this was maybe June or July(?) when I had one guy come in at 5 am (walked in) looking pale as hell, doubled over with his hand wrapped in a large bath towel. We got him in the room and started unwrapping all his coverings. Long story short, he cut off his left pointer finger, not even at a joint, but between the first and second knuckle starting at the hand, he had done it THE NIGHT BEFORE and figured if he drank himself to sleep he'd sleep it off (his friend drove him in). He didn't come in sooner because he was "afraid of Covid." Had the finger in his freezer and didn't think to bring it with him. He gave him a bunch of pain meds and put a tourniquet on but it wouldn't stop bleeding so we had to send him to a bigger hospital with a hand surgeon. He didn't NEED to take an ambulance there and his friend agreed to drive him. He was accepted as a transfer to that hospital (meaning they're expecting him and he can't live his life with a tourniquet on his finger) and when we gave him the paperwork his friend was like "okay great thanks just in case he decides he doesn't wanna go" and we're like??? He has to? Mind you he was still out cold from morphine lmao

When thinking about AI, i cant imagine them ever having the same emotions as humans. Like grief or pain, or even pure happiness because they are not a natural being (as in having DNA). I think i will always enjoy the company of a (nice) human more than that of AI.
