I just started a level English language and we're doing about language and dialect and speech patterns etc. and for homework we were asked to do a transcript of a conversation between two people and I used a section of your podcast I think it was episode 20 and it was near the beginning when Bach was talking about his karaoke machine not arriving from Amazon and I included the part where you both started shouting 'IM A FEMALE' and I didn't realise my teacher would actually take it in to read it 😭😭😭

This was such a great episode AGAIN I really hope you guys know how much this podcast is appreciated. I have never so easily sat and actively listened to/watched a podcast as much as the Bach and Arthur podcast. It really is the perfect mix of uplifting fun topics mixed with knowledge and insights about all sorts of insanely interesting science, philosophy, ethics etc. It has been my comfort podcast for months now and it is genuinely what I look forward to every week. In Australia we were taught that Australia was the continent and referred it as such but were also told that NZ and islands above were included with us as a continent. However, as an adult I would say most people here refer the continent as Oceania to include the other countries

the ATAR story is SOOO REALL!! (btw ATAR is aussie system)- my sister got a 98.8 ATAR (really really fucking good- best in the whole school) and i felt like i was trying to compete with her in highschool too! ended up getting alright so whatever 🤷‍♀️ so to that girl i hope you’re seeing this cause i went through the same thing- didn’t get AS well but still did MY BEST and genuinely everyone was happy for me without comparing. it was hard for ME to come to terms with it but honestly even a month after ATAR comes out you forget about it. like i don’t even remember my exact score and i graduated last year. it really doesn’t matter that much- only care if you feel like you did YOUR best. but comparing yourself to your sister will be an obstacle throughout your whole life not just ATAR tbh- so learn to accept your life for what it is. i’m still struggling with my high achieving older sister comparisons but it’s legit your own life don’t worry.

Maybe the whole process of aging, how your telomeres shorten and there're apparently drugs that can lengthen telomeres again. Or a whole deep dive in controversial epi genetics topics like 'can thoughts influence your own genetic readout'

Another problem with antibiotics is that they are way overprescribed. Unless you're immunocompromised, strep throat etc will go away just as fast with or without antibiotics. I used to get strep 4-5 times a year when I was younger and penicillin never made it go away faster.
