All around enjoyable performance of Bach. All these talented folks make several instruments sound like one big church organ instrument, each is a finger on Bach's keyboard. Keep up the good work.

People who say they are moving way too much, I know a lot of people who move while playing. It's their bodies natural reaction to the song. If they are really involved then they move. I do it occasionally. Especially one song called Danzas Cubanas by Robert Sheldon. Bari has the melody and I get into it and start deck for a bit
@DeathProductions2009 жыл бұрын
+Raywood Miller If people think they move to much then I kind of feel ashamed. Look at lucky chops brass band. They move a lot more than the National Saxophone Choir. Then again Lucky Chops performs in the street a lot. But it's still the same thing. People think that moving isn't that good to do when playing. But it's really a good thing to do if you can play while moving.

There is another kind of contra probably you don't know, In the Brazil, it was manufactured a compact contra bass sax. I don't know the exactly work... It's BENT,DOUBLE,CURVED,BOWED SAXOPHONE. In my option, to consider a sax alto, tenor, baritone, bass and contrabass. The VOLUME is the path.

well thanks for correcting me(not sarcasm) im always trying to find out more about these giants, and i've heard and read debates among some saxophone purist (this video as an example a few times) say the bore is too small for a true sax but granted you've played them unlike them lol

I've heard about diferences instrument with low A and with out, there are many opnions. It's sounds more a sax without lower notes. manufact a sax without a large bell could means more refinament/fininf/tuning. if you manufact an enlarged sax you can compromise the tone... to ensure the right note/tone/ the right Hertz... better produce right... Selmer and Benedick does a good work in the volume and size of the saxophone, allowing the players to sound more right as possible(Hearts)...

oboes and flutes are a lot lighter. i'm not saying sops are heavy, and i'm not saying they WILL drop their sop, just a lot of people would rather be safe than sorry. i mean you sometimes see clarinet players wear neck straps aswell. And i know they do sometimes, but more often than not, saxophone players stand a lot more than those two instruments, so if they were to drop it, it would do a lot more damage.
@LowReedExpert112 жыл бұрын
The giant in this video is technically a Tubax, I think, they may have made a special order, but it has a range to A. General rule of thumb I use is if the bell is by half the body, it goes to Bb, next to the top, A, OVER the top of the sax (super rare) LOW G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@hap18412 жыл бұрын
There is no TUBAX in this video, the tree lowest are Contra, bass and baritone saxophones.

@RasmusEOE With an organ you can't get the same articulation, dynamics, and sound and would you have said that if this were a video of a traditional orchestra playing this?
@hap18412 жыл бұрын
I've play a big J´ Elle Stainer bass Bb, which has low G and it appears with Low Bb, its very funny. It's hard to play, you must use mouthpiece of contrabass, uses much air, its necessay to set up(openning keys, reed) the sax to each players. The manucture told me he consider that sax as contrabass, there somethings that is hard to measure. that one can cheat every one. Of course he does great saxophone, but that one is unique because someone asked him to do that.

I'm not saying that flutes and oboes don't stand,i'm not stupid, but i can guarantee you that they are only using a neckstrap just in case they drop it. I never used to, but then it just slipped, accidently. now i always use a strap, not because i feel it's an absolute must have, but just as a safety precaution.

There are one contrabass there!. There are tree guys which(Contra, bass and bari) is not TUBAX, they are saxophones, just it! As you u have written "I think"... I'm sure man I play all of them. When you manufacture a sax, as bass saxofones, look at Conn, Martin and Selmer, there are tree diferent sizes, you must consider a rangeo of size and volume to consider a bass sax. And the Contra is the same thing, just a thin size! My apologies Look for my amateur videos, "sax contrabass hino 445"

That's because in the soprino sax section there are two uncommon saxes used this being the sopranino sax and the sopranissimo sax the sopranissimo sax is the smallest if you look in the lineup when they show the soprino sax section
@crIms0ngen6 жыл бұрын
Saxophones blend very well in orchestra like pieces, assuming the sound of a variety of instruments, including strings. :P And in this ensemble they start at the Soprillo, then have sopranino, then all the familiar saxophones (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone) go down to the bass, and even the tubax.
@eljarrado12312 жыл бұрын
and i would like to see you play as well as them with a tone that good. Soprano's take the championship trophy on screwing up intonation and sounding like oboes, so good luck with that.

Lots of troublesome intonation problems to work out, both within & between sections. First of all, the low register octaves weren't in tune - that needs to be fixed in order for the upper voices to have a chance to know where to place their pitch. Also, a few individual players (notably tenor & soprano) weren't adequately blending with the overall ensemble tonal color (i.e., they were "sticking out") - which is another basic issue. When everyone's individual tone qualities are matched, perfect intonation is much easier to achieve.

Interesting interpretation. The sax can at least handle the bass. Especially with the contrabass sax.
