Teddy, when looking for love, trust and security, you need to be solid with these yourself. Love yourself. Trust yourself. If you are looking to others to provide, you will be disappointed, and feel less than worthy. I'm thinking Clayton not picking you was a sign of respect. The guy has shown he can give into temptation. He could have easily slept with you as he did the others. You dodged a life changing experience, and how would you have felt wasting yourself on his kid in a candy store ways. He was respecting you.
