The first supermodel was Jean Shrimpton in England. She was exquisite. All the top models in the 60's and 70's were mostly from England for a good while and they all aged naturally. Dickenson is NOT the first.

I understand both viewpoints - while Shrimpton can probably be considered the first "supermodel", really the supermodel did not evolve to celebrity until the 1980s; I doubt one in ten people could have named Shrimpton by sight - but far more people understood who Dickinson, Christy Brinkley, Cindy Crawford, Elle Macpherson, etc. were. To be honest, I think of Jean Shrimpton as a Star model (Audrey Hepburn was more of a supermodel tbh, as was Princess Di) - Supermodel involves more fame.
