Ben gets a lot of negative feedback. But what is see when I watch them on the show is a woman telling a man she sees his red flags and in response, I see a man showing up and trying to fix those red flags for a woman he loves. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about your willingness to adjust and always try and I saw that with Ben. She asked and he always tried.

Very true. I feel like out of all the guys there he never expressed himself verbally like Tayshia wanted and expected him to but his actions always told what he felt. He was the only guy to really go after her and fight for her. Sad that she never acknowledged those actions as being signs of how he felt even though he wasnt able to verbalize his feelings. She expected verbal affirmation when his actions were always loud and clear.

You can clearly see the difference in the way he handled the breakup this time. He told tayshia when he came back to express his feelings that he was frustrated at himself for shutting down before and you can see this time around that he learned and grew from that. He didn’t shut down and was able to express himself. He is owning his shortcomings, learning from them, and overcoming them. I’m so proud of him.

can i just say that tayshia is the most respectful bachelorette ever on this show!! sure it wasn’t done in “typical” bachelorette fashion with contestants eliminated from rose ceremonies all the time but she was very respectful in talking to the contestants individually instead of blindsiding them. especially towards the end she pulled aside the men that she had built real connections with and broke things off without other contestants around. it shows real class and respect to the men that had genuine feelings for her and she really made this season her own. 👏👏

Finally someone sees it. Asks him to open up, he does and we have yet to see her reciprocate that vulnerability to him (did she open up in general though). Admits she has fallen for him but wants to hear him say it first, even though he has communicated with her that he doesn’t do well expressing his emotions. He isn’t a mind reader, so she sends him home for not expressing it when Ivan and Zac didn’t even express it until the fantasy suite dates. Yet they both guys got a rose despite that. Why such expectations only for Ben? Before walking Ben to the car, she sits him down and still doesn’t communicate why she is actually sending him home yet is mad he doesn’t give her whatever reaction she was passive aggressively seeking. Rather than empathize with Ben’s heartbreak from going home, she makes that last moment completely about her needs. Even Rachel called her out and said “you asked the guy to open up and when he did you sent him home for it. Why wouldn’t his defenses go up at the end?” Ben comes back and expresses his love (as she wanted) yet she doesn’t express it back to him even though she led us to believe she just needed to hear him say it first. Expects Ben to communicate in her love language (words of affirmation), yet doesn’t create space for how he naturally expresses love (looks like acts of service). Basically, her way or the highway. I love Tayshia but she has to work on removing her ego as it pertains to love and realize that she doesn’t know it all. She is very passive aggressive and not as forthcoming as she believes. Otherwise, a great bachelorette.
