i think he was the butler of the demon king, and the reason he doesnt actually wanna be the demon king is that he knows that derkila had to go through and only derkila himself can handle that kind of stuff which is beyond his power to do so. Thats why hes constantly refusing to be the next Demon King cuz he doesnt think he can handle the netherworld lol
