Love the slow yet weighty feel of each sword clash with brief moments to show each character's nonverbal expression with the added quiet acknowledgement between the both of them at the end. The sounds of the attacks was a nice touch giving a different in sound depending on what the action was.

I've been really happy with the anime so far. The staff put in a lot of work in it and I think it shows. If the next episodes are adapted right, I could see Reign of the Seven Spellblades becoming a bit more popular. I hope so too cuz this series is great 🔥

Props to the sound and animation team. I prefer the slow weighty feel when the swords clash with good enough empathies on swords making contact either it be grinding against one another or it sliding against each other. You also get to see the character's fighting stance and nonverbal expression from the struggle of contesting the other attack to the quiet acknowledgement between fighters. Adds tension, purpose and weight to the attacks. I like the occasional fast pace fights but when attacks end up being motion blur or light marks cause the two characters are too fast for others to witness it kind of losses its charm when it occurs repeatedly especially when skills are being thrown out left right front and center without any different variations or strategies with said skill.

yeah its so dangerous yet literally nobody seems to care... all the characters act like npcs. the characters themselves aren't bad its just the dialogue is so cheesy and unrealistic. the animation is the only upside to this anime

​@@brandonlee3924 No, they do understand, its just that they know what they've signed up for by choosing to enter Kimberly, it isn't like the 20% number was a bombshell that the headmistress gave them during the opening ceremony. In this world, the pursuit and progress of magic is sought above all else and everything is a resource in pursuit of that, including human lives.

I still don't understand why this anime's being trashed on all the time. The animation alone is much clearer and more fluid in this fight scene and ESPECIALLY in the opening. One of J.C. Staff's better works, I might add.

@entity_176 I see why you and everyone would think that, but when you really think, this is the way the author and show builds up the story; right now, it starts off as a "Harry Potter-like" story with one-personality characters, but the story and its characters go much deeper into detail later on in the story, revealing the true plot points, and so on. It just has a slow build-up to the eventual plot revelation.

Other than an obvious animation error, I think a good way to headcanon it is that that’s the way he’s seeing his weapon. She’s got a lot more experience with her sword than his, so it’s kind of like bringing a knife to a sword fight sort of deal.

Pretty sure he's using a Shortsword while she's using something more akin to a Katana or just a longer sword. Different angles make his short sword look even shorter then it already it. But at the beginning scene at 0:06 you can see a major difference in the shape/craft of their swords.

you gonna understand she was brought up that way. She only knows wars and was taught fighting to the depth bring her happiness. Later on her friends trying to explained to her to change her way of living. To see Oliver as he is and not fighting with the sword to the death. Even Oliver himself wants that fight to the death. He trying to avoided them fighting again, but he can't avoid that forever. As much as I like this two ended up together as the LN pushes them that way and their connection destiny interwined together.Their romance will probably end in tragically. One of them will die. I hope they both died and not let one live in dispair.

This anime seems to have some issues with combat lol. First it feels so painfully slow paced you can't make anything that slow fun to watch and then they can't even keep consistency with the size of the arena. Some shots they are in a tiny arena they wouldn't have 5 steps back and then the arena magically looks 3x bigger in the next shot when they need to jump back
