Oddly enough I saw BTO at an Amway weekend function. One of the best concerts I've ever enjoyed. I've seen Bob Seger ,REO SPEEDWAGON, Survivor, Marshall Tucker,Charlie Daniels with Grinder Switch, Todd Rundgren, Pat Travers, Jimmy Buffet, Iron Maiden all great concerts. BTO was as good live as those I just mentioned. Oh I also saw ACDC live along with Tight Squeeze.

@@GFSwinger1693 I personally think that the RRHOF needs to change their name to the Music Museum or Music Hall because RAP is not Rock and Roll. Neither is Gospel. Several bands never even had a single hit. There are so many Punk bands like the SexPistols, etc that I wonder how they even got in. They need to make a RRHOF that is specifically for Rock and Roll. Then Rock fans will see the likes of Grand Funk Railroad, BTO, Foreigner, etc will get in and fans can really appreciate those groups that really belong.

Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings and their bandmates made some really memorable music and put Canada on the pop/rock music map back in the 1970s and it's as great to hear again today. Randy is just one of those guys who can write/play/sing and make it look easy when it actually requires a great deal of hard work, talent, and practice practice practice.

Guess Who and BTO are important contributors to the popular music culture of the US and Canada because they are not only talented but genuine. And I speak of not only Burton and Randy but all members of both bands because no one does this alone. I think it's good that the music fans are reminded of how impactful both bands have been. Each member of these bands can take pride that they made a difference. In short, Guess Who and BTO were embraced by music fans all over because they never forgot their roots in Winnipeg and were real! Job well done, guys!

Funny how Sir Paul & the other Beatles, Guess Who, BTO, and LRB all share the fact they all lost rights in one form or another on either name/logo's, or music. That truly belongs to them. Michael Lechner I saw BTO, 1992 in a small club. Maybe 500-1000 were there. Super fun concert. I’m pretty sure Randy was there but according to Wikipedia, Randy was not in BTO in ‘92. Oh well we had a blast at that concert.

Sometimes old friends fall out. Sometimes they get back together and things are better in their maturity. I loved the Guess Who and BTO. My first concert in Adelaide's Apollo stadium in 1972 was to see The Guess Who. They weren't the headline act (Three Dog Night were) but they were who I went for.

Randy only wrote the intro. In my Cleveland hotel room in, 1974 Fred called me in to show me this song. He sang it I loved it and wanted to play along. I loved the staggered beat and played my floor toms with his bass pattern. Later Randy added the intro. If you play the song without the intro it still works great. So you can't believe everything you hear.

Been a couple of years but if you don't mind I would like to mention my opinion if I might. I think He was introducing the song in a way that showed a good light is all. Taking nothing away from the originator. Funny thing is most originators in music rarely get the right credit. It's the nature of the beast don't you think? Anyway - I enjoyed your story as well. I used to manage Larry Welborn - he is the original bass player with Buddy Holly on "That'll be the day" as he was a friend of Buddys and played with him for years in Lubbock Tx. Search him on here - you will be in for a surprise. ALSO - Grew up with your music - Both Groups were just the best BTO was always an upbeat and TGW were tops in their music as well. In Closing - Don't waste life it's much too short.
