I appreciate your honesty with yourself…it isn’t easy taking the simple shots that won’t get you to the green. But THOSE shots are your friend!! I can’t even count how many times punching out or laying up helped my game & score. Keep. It. Simple. While the frilly shots may look pretty (IF they work out), they can’t be relied on, especially on a bad golf day.

Pretty cool! I've been playing this course in a league for 14 years, so it was really entertaining to watch. #12 is my arch nemesis. Even when I was a 3 handicap, I averaged about 5.75.

Hello Mr. John, love watching the videos and am a huge fan cause I love the drive from a guy like you to get better. I would recommend to help get rid of the slice to try and square up at address, right now it looks like off of the tee the shoulders are left and the feet are right so you are swinging on the shoulder path. Try to feel shoulders a little more right. Keep up the videos and hard work!

I wouldn’t change up the grips just yet. You are take the club back very shallow, then raising your hands up before going down, which results in the over the top pull. Your brain realizes this is happening and opens the face to try and get the ball in the right direction leading to the big slice. See if you can take the club back a little steeper and then shallow it a tiny bit coming down.

I would say that just to have much more confidence you will never have a pull or pull hook just always make sure your club face is always very slightly open before your swing. and then just always aim a bit left and play your cut and feel comfortable it WILL cut instead of a pull hook. or just straight pull, because the clubface was just slightly closed. Because if you have tendency your ball always cuts right, but every shot are trying to make sure the clubface is perfectly square, then it leaves doubt in your swing when you aim left if you will pull it straight left or if the ball will actually cut back to the right. With the club face slightly open you will have much more confidence you wont pull it straight left with the ball going straight left into the trees instead of cutting back right like you expected.

What’s your thoughts on the top flight balls? Can’t get them here in NZ but they were always a budget ball that felt like a stone. Someone with a big slice like myself needs a softer ball like the titleist AVX. They helped me. Maybe worth a try. Enjoy the videos, keep them coming

I’m a teaching pro, make sure your about 3/10 on grip tightness. If your squeezing your club the face can’t close. Good luck!
@Rosetwin90
@Rosetwin90 Жыл бұрын
Just make sure it's not too loose or you'll start double crossing. Whenever you grip it should just be tight enough to control. Also when I grip it I don't squeeze... I actually feel like my hands are tightening toward the middle of the grip. Kind of like your wringing a wet rag.

Face sends path bends you already have a closed to square club face because your shots start on line or to the left
@Omnis2

Your warmup swing looks pretty good, but you come way over the top when you get closer to actually hit the ball. Train more chest movement and keeping your chest closed to the ball while making that first move in the downswing. But you already know what to fix. Use that camera to film practice.
