My last visit to the SG Zoo was nearly two decades ago. I can only recall how happy I was to be there. This video is a wonderful refresher of those memories. The etymology of Giraffe is convoluted at best but a google search shows African (duh) and Arabic (lots of Muslims in Africa) origins. Greek? I'm finding not so much. Singapore Zoo is definitely the best I've ever been to and don't forget those award winning toilets.

Sorry to say never like visiting zoo, most of the animals inside looks old, haggard like old folks home.
