What are your thoughts on the Bells of Steel Lat Pulldown/Low Row?
@dertrendtrader6 ай бұрын
Looks overall great, but: the bar at the top from which the rope comes down is much too long! This means that you can hardly activate your complete lats at all because you have to lean too far back.

Love what BOS has been doing lately but still very satisfied with my selectorized lat low row on my Rep PR 5000. Even if I had the space, I’d still choose my rack attached selectorized to save space

Nice!! This is definitely the one I'd buy if I were in the market. I think with the gympin/weight peg you'd typically still want the selector pin inserted below it as well - that should take care of any misalignment issues with the selector shaft.
@GarageGymLab Жыл бұрын
Good point, although I still think there would be a problem if the distance between the band pegs and tethered selector couldn’t fit the change plate on the pin

I've been eyeing this machine since they released the new version. I'd love to own it, but my plate loaded rack attachment is getting the job done for now.

Excellent review.. not sure how the prices compare directly but the Fray Fitness model still looks better than this or the Titan model… for those of us in the 3X3 1” hole ecosystem I still think that the Rogue slinger+low row makes the most sense overall. Especially for us taller guys who can get it at 108” upright height if needed.

Thanks for watching! I haven’t tried the Fray model, but a solid home gym option for sure.

How did you get the double pulley that hangs to hang straight/parallel? Just put mine together and it seems to hang at an angle and the cable isn’t completely straight.
@Just_Me Жыл бұрын
Fantastic review as always. I've missed your reviews. One thing that I think would have been helpful in this review is for you to talk through why this piece is an important addition to your gym. I always figured that if one could do pull ups/chin ups (with or without band assistance) and bent over row/pendlay rows with a barbell that working with a lat pulldown and low row wasn't worth the investment of added time in the gym let alone money spent. That may well be incorrect, but I'd be interested in your perspective on this as you seem to know what you're doing and obviously have gone ahead and made the investment.

I think the advantages of a lat pull down vs barbells and pull ups , is the lower chance of injury, as I get older , doing pulls up are getting more difficult

you forgot to mention the low row is a 2 to 1 ratio cutting your weight stack in half which make this not that useful of machine. A 180lb intermediate male will low row 200 lbs which is a lot more than 155lb this machine offers. Most people can low row more than a lat pull down I don't know why they keep cabling these backwards.
