I have driven through LV on the way to Zion, but only stopped once. I was on a field trip to find Triassic stromatolites (fossils) with a bunch of other geology students and predictably we made the most of the buffets and stuffed six people in one budget motel room with sleeping bags. Not a glamorous experience, but more my taste than the night life! The desert can be wonderful, depending on the time of year. Great news on the scholarship, enjoy your bonus yarn.

I think both the Linen Quill and the Good Wool come in such amazing colors. I'm obsessed with the "Red Prune" Good Wool color. I'm knitting the Kuutar by Sari Nordland in it and it's coming out great even though that sweater calls for a thicker yarn. I find it really pleasant to work with. Vegas is super fun. I don't even like drinking or gambling but I love shopping, eating, people watching, and just the general ambiance. Plus you can get really good deals on rooms. I lived in a desert for 3 years and that was too much, but visiting? Hell yeah! It's beautiful and interesting.

Thanks for mentioning that you got hit with duty. I was going to ask as I haven’t ordered from the states since I was charged extra. That was a great find in London. I hope someone enjoys all the Briggs and Little yarn I brought to Stratford last week, that’s what hurts my fingers. I have been enjoying Francesca very much, thanks to you.

That Olive Oil colour is so beautiful...I seem to be drawn to it everytime I look for yarn lately. I am knitting with my new Lykke needles as I watch the episode (thank you!)...and I think I know why they suit me so well. I've been knitting a certain way for over 40yrs now, but have always been confused about what style it is...throwing, flicking, etc. Then I saw someone knitting this past week...Eureka, that is my style!!! Turns out it's called Irish Cottage knitting, and I love the quaintness of the name 🥰. Mystery solved 😊

Steeking! I wear almost exclusively cardigans. But I am as well as you trying to avoid purling. A way to get ”into the circular knitting” is adding some (5) extra stitches. Afterwards sewing some rows of zig-zac with a sewingmashine, take a deep breath and ✂️ do the cut! ❤❤❤

Enjoyed this episode and all your makes. I have found for me when I knit flat, which is not often, I have taught myself to knit backwards perhaps this would help if you haven’t tried this yourself. Good find at the thrift store!

FYI, Lykke is pronounced like "Loo-kah". Andrea Mowry says it correctly in her podcast this morning actually. I recently paired my lykke needles with lantern moon swivel cables and they are my new favorites !

I also live in Canada, can you share how much duties you were hit with for the purlsoho order? Also how was the shipping times?

I think shipping was $15 and duties $20. Shipping was fast! About a week

I don’t know anything about covid induced alcohol intolerance, but just throwing out there the possibility your drink got roofied? I don’t want to scare you, I just know what it’s like to be buzzed/drunk, and I hear that getting roofied has different symptoms.

I don’t think so. No one that I was with had any symptoms and were are a restaurant not a bar. Good looking out though
