The song is telling him that he is back in Encino and that everything’s alright. However it’s only telling him that everything’s alright and that he’s back in Encino when he believes. “You Gotta believe I’m back in Encino” in the song lyrics indicates he’s only believing he’s back in Encino when in reality he may not be. So the question arises, is he believing he’s in Encino because he really is in Encino, or does he believe he’s in Encino because he’s hallucinating? To find out we must listen to the next part of the song lyrics. “You gotta believe, that everything’s all right”. Is he believing that everything’s all right because everything is all right, or is it just his false hallucinations belief? Well this is answered when the ice cream falls off the cone. This is negative, it’s a signal of a bad thing, and of sadness, when he believes everything is all right. This tells him that everything is not all right and in turn conforms he is not actually back in Encino. It then cuts to him laying on the desert floor. The ice cream revelation snapped him out of his Encino hallucination.
