@@EastCharmerhow typically do you interact with users? Is it like face to face customer service like working as a barista or more dealing with tickets online and fixing stuff in the office for your co workers ?
@EastCharmer
@EastCharmer 10 ай бұрын
@@kudziisuuASMR we interact with customers a lot. and it's both. we deal with user tickets a lot and sometimes we can fix stuff remotely if it's an easy fix like a known issue. but if it's a more complicated issue, we want to interact face to face so we can see the problem firsthand and understand what the user's issue is because most of the time it's hard for them to explain technical issues. Also part of our task is to train users with the new systems and devices so we train them too face to face. And also, we do onboarding of users in the system so we also train new hires in how they should use our system and their devices.

@@EastCharmer thank you for your input I’ve been tossing up a lot of job ideas and a decent chunk of them are in the tech field. I’m currently a barista and people are huge jerks about their coffee :/ so ideally id want something that’s not too much with customer service . The issue is a lot of it jobs seem to have it? But tech is honestly the only thing I feel I’m good at. I’ll probably do more research . Hope I can settle on a path soon.
@EastCharmer
@EastCharmer 10 ай бұрын
@kudziisuu1286 oh yeah I feel you. There's a lot of coffee snubs out there and customer service is a pain. I was from the medical field before and I transitioned to IT because even if there's customer service, atleast I enjoyed fixing computer issues. Yeah entry level IT is tier1 which deals more with tickets and issues but if you're good with tech you can check out networking, data center and systems admin role. You might still have to go through entry level but once you gain experience for about 2 yrs you can level up to roles that doesn't deal with users. Goodluck and don't give up!!

The titles are really up to the company. Sometimes titles like engineer and specialist are interchangeable and they have the same responsibilities. But in most industries, engineer role will be more senior to specialist. "Engineers" will be dealing with planning technology, system and network infrastructure and the specialist will be dealing with the implementation of those plans most likely.
