I discovered AAP and the Honeycutters last year about this time and was impressed. I see no reason why they aren't more widely known and appreciated. Amanda has a wonderful voice.

Been a fan for a few years now and a very underrated singer songwriter. Looking forward to seeing Amanda tonight in Nottingham, England. Love from Shakespeare country

Quite a few years ago, I was working the gas patch in western PA (I live here) and on the way through Washington, PA on the way home from a cement job down past there, was at the Waffle House eating lunch and heard someone talking about "the Honeycutters" being at the Moose, or Elks (I honestly don't remember which now) and had just discovered songs like Marie, and all the stuff off that album! So I got home to Indiana County, raced through a shower, told my wife where I was headed and went back to Washington! $10 to get in. Maybe 50 or 60 people there. And it was awesome. I smiled. I smiled a lot. I also cried a little, some songs just really touching this crotchety old dude. After the entertainment, the band was putting away their stuff, and Amanda was at the foot of the stage alone. I approached, to tell her how honored I was to see them in person. She talked to me like we'd been friends all along!!! On the way out, they had a mandoline player named Tal Taylor, and I talked with him and we also carried on like old friends! Ended up being facebook friends, even! Just awesome people all around! Still loving their tunes. And her words. Nothing like it. Nothing even comes close.

Great, great story and so cool how deeply connected you are to their music…and now them! I discovered them a year ago. They had me from the first chorus. Their song make me smile…and cry. Living in PA but driving to Norfolk, VA to see them live for the first time next week!

@@thomasmaher441 They're still great. Their drummer back then, as I recall, was from New Castle PA. Doesn't appear he's the drummer now, and Tal Taylor hasn't been with them for quite a while now, but the woman writes...................as if her dreams, or thoughts, or concerns, or experiences are talking to her! Safe traveling, and have a great time! I envy you.

I saw them in Washington PA at an Elks Club or Moose Lodge or something way back when THAT was their music. And "Marie". Wow! How long ago would that have been now? I'm 64 and wanna say YESTERDAY, but I know it's been a few! LOL
