I'm a 49 year old man, posting for the first time ever, with big healthy tears streaming down my face. Seven years ago I lost my first born son to cancer. He was only 8 years old. Beth, your song touched me, and helped me cry in a way that I very much needed. Thank you. ❤

She's got a good voice - Guitar ... ? - But it's her job and the story in the song that make it good. Not all singers have the chance to explain what they see every day and why they write. There are many many better song writers and singers out there and even on this show who have been refused. I've been in and out of hospital for the past 5 years and seen the wonderful job of medical people and nurses saving lives and I've had families and people die beside me while in intensive care ..... These nurses deserve ALL the support they can get and if her safety valve to keepin a level head is writing songs then good on her. I know many who resort to using the meds available in the hospital to put up with, the hours, the grief and the difficulties.

It's not just for parents who lost their most precious child, but for ANYONE who would give anything to see their most loved one 1 more time, and I 100% agree, if I could have changed places with my wife, I would have, because she was so, SO, much better for this world than me! As a retired health care professional, you just need to be dispassionate. Perhaps this is why Beth is finding a way out. I have come across colleagues who battled depression, and there are documented incidents of suicide from Drs and Nurses who failed to detach from the pain.

I was an ICU NURSE and helped people to find closure with their life. I worked for a time in Pediatric ICU, to help them out when they were short staffed, but it broke my heart. The worst for me was a 2 year old that I cared for in the burn unit with 60% of her body burned. I say kudos to nurses who can work with children. I cared for a lot of people in various ICUs, but had nightmares about the children! Maybe it was because I was a mother and thought of my children in that state? She's a wonderful person for being able to help and do that!

@@modireli1318I left beside in oncology care because of burn out. The amount I cared for patients & complete strangers exponentially outweighed the compassion or care I was ever reciprocated by my employer & those I interacted with. It’s hard for people to appreciate you or realize your efforts when the outcomes are still suboptimal.. when the diagnosis is still life threatening/ ending. It’s an extremely lonely place when you can’t share stories or experiences because of HIPPA/ patient privacy, and you don’t have an outlet. There’s a sense of guilt, even when there is nothing you could have changed. I found sports which has helped to an extent, I am so happy this beautiful young lady found music.

I give credit to all my son's nurses. They didn't just take care of him when he was little, they took care of me, too. He's 37 now and between him and my youngest boy, they've made me a grandmother five times over. I'm home recuperating from a cancer scare (seems like they got it all, fingers crossed) and I couldn't have gotten through it with the beautiful nurses, and of course the surgeons and other doctors. But it was the nurses who calmed me, listened to me cry, and hugged me when I was scared. This was a beautiful song and I'm sure she's a wonderful nurse.

She's in a noble profession, for sure, but isn't truly selfless, as she earns a living from it. She isn't doing this work for nothing in return. There are a handful of good humans in the world that do selfless charity acts, and often for no paycheck. To me, the greatest heroes are those who sacrifice themselves for their cause ... with their money, time, relationships and mainstream popularity. Those who run animal rescues are at the top of that list, as it's a completely selfless and sacrificial cause - often met with great opposition from this "oh so wonderful" species that we call "humanity".
@anonimous24512 ай бұрын
Night Bird's experiences were far different. She learned thru the Pain and misery of her illness about life and when she finally threw away her cares about this world she touched it in a way that has inspired millions around the globe. Beth has a lot of those traits but learned a different way but each of them found a LOVE that surpasses all understanding which is the absolute KEY to reach a point of appreciation in other's lives. I surely do miss Night Bird and when she came on and said her chances of living were like 2% she still had hope. The hope faded with the curse of that disease and she finally succumbed to it, but, EVERYONE still remembers her. And so it goes for those that shine with a love Glow that is deeply instilled and wholly appreciated by anyone it touches. Bless them both. And Bless each and every one of YOU out there. Remember this life is soooo fleeting and tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. Live today to it's fullest as best you can and remember Love extends beyond the trans-dimensional realms we end up in.

My grandmother was a nurse. She had just started her second year of nursing school when the pandemic hit, the pandemic of 1918. They turned her school into a field hospital for hundreds of people and many died. I learned all that decades after she passed away at the age of 67. I have been in the hospital a number of times. The bulk of the care I received was always provided by nurses. Most nurses work hard, often impossible hours and the job they do isn't just essential, they literally keep the whole world alive. They certainly are my heroes. From the nurses who comforted me when I was a child and in the hospital to the ones who administered chemotherapy. Every major life altering event in my life has involved a nurse. They go unsung far too often. They get recognition far too seldom. I hope this young woman finds success in her singing career and I think she will. Her singing and especially song writing skills are amazing. It's not often anyone can make this 64 year old man cry.

Makes me proud to be a nurse. During Covid, I was not part of the nursing profession that had patient contact. Sometimes that makes me feel less than those who did.
