Seeing that old Willys just got my adrenalin going. I have a 42 Ford Jeep I been putting off cause of other projects. I need to get that thing on the road.

Great cinematography! Though, watching you bounce around in that flat fender has me scheduling a chiropractor appointment from sympathy pains.

The Crux is no joke. I have run it both ways and it is a steep loose section for sure. They made the right call for sure

Jeremy brought a gun to a knife fight. Y'all should have piled in his jeep and driven down the "fun" tuff stuff to the lake. 😉😃. Cool flat fender for sure. But I love Jeremy's setup👍👍

Thank you. As the crux would have been a lot of fun to do, it was something we would take on as a group and think it was the right call to head back. But might need to head back out there one of these days 😎

I LOVE the older cars. Somewhere in the 80s or 90s, cars started losing their souls. No character in new cars. Merely more technology to disconnect you from the experience of driving.
@AustinH7 Жыл бұрын
They sharply lost their souls after 2018 I would think. That was the sharp line in the sand that things become more tech than machine. They all wanted to copy Tesla.

I enjoyed the views and beauty of the area. When you become more comfortable with the little jeep and your driving skill improves you will walk circles around those big heavy 4X4's. I drove Series LR's for years with wimpy axles, poor gearing, limited power and a ride that made me very aware of where the vehicle was on the trail. Now that I'm older I drive a JL Willy's diesel, it's like a Cadillac on the trail and with the limited slip its like a Goat. I really do miss the old rigs and its fun to watch people learning to drive.

Flatties were meant for dirt roads and fun. Apparently the bronco was too! Beautiful drive

The issue nobody ever addresses is how old these trails are. What the vehicles of the day then and that it was all maps and compasses. Open difs were all there was. That Willys was how it was and most likely the vehicle used. I have been over a lot of the trails in northern CA/NV. My primary navigation is map and compass. I carry a GPS as a backup. Also, with a map and compass you can pinpoint your location.

Great video I really enjoyed it. I Live up here where you were filming and I have not been on on that trail yet. I will have to go donut trail sometime but you were pretty far from snake Lake. Snake Lake is West of Quincy and gold Lake is East of Quincy about 40 or 50 miles apart.
@HarrySituations Жыл бұрын
There must be more than one Snake Lake (kind of like how there are so many Silver Lakes and Bear Valleys in California).

What was up with the Bronco? I live in the area but have never been on this trail.

I think that it lost a wheel sensor. When that happens all the lockers/sway bar/4WD seem to go into limp mode.
@JeepnJeff Жыл бұрын
I drove a CJ2A recently and it really is a seat-of-the-pants ride. Felt really weird to be so exposed and not really IN the Jeep. I'm now considering buying one and keeping it relatively stock to wheel.

I thought I was the only one thinking that. For sure these young go getters definitely hit a compass rose beforehand and swung that compass. They also had a good looking map and sunshine … lots of landmarks. Should have been an easy day.
