Thanks for these excellent videos. Note that a tracking shot is alongside a subject, while a dolly shot is in toward or away from the subject. The dog running is a true tracking shot, as is the woman walking through the field.

I’m entering my first film contest and open my film following 2 people on each side of the frame down a park path. Am using a garden cart (plastic wheelbarrow) with a board on it and a mini-tripod. CT on the cheap!

I have a Dolly its like 37 inches Guessing i forget exactly... but yeah got it because "Client work" It looks super pro to have this tool I can do anlotnof the moves with little Fuzzy feet for moving furniture on my tripod on Hard wood, hard plastic disks for on Carpet its nice to have that option in a pocket of a Camera bag and mine nest well. But for like Jewelry Shots, setting up the Dolly helps, a slider is almost the same thing just smaller, mine is overkill for most my purposes but I do film musicians some and setting it up on top the pianio to Go from one end to the other and track them in a spin like move is cool. Figure anything Bigger then that is DIT tracks and Wheels (And you know in a pinch one of those Rolling bases for Trash cans work well.)

Great informative video and the gentleman seems like a nice guy but the audio is terrible and it sounds like he's whispering I had to turn my volume way up to hear what he was saying. Plus this poor fella needs a little coffee to give him a little bit of energy lol :-) but besides that great informative video good job!

2023.. I say today, I’m most situations, camera dolly track is no longer necessary. why go to all that trouble..gimbals have made it easy to get smooth shots..change my mind!!
