Nice video George and great to be introduced to Rollo. With regard to Flash And The Pan/Easybeats, the main guys there were Harry Vanda (who emigrated from Netherlands to Australia in 1963) and George Young (who left Glasgow with his family the same year). In Australia they formed The Easybeats around 1965. George also became a record producer. His younger brothers included Malcolm and Angus Young of AC/DC.

The Easybeats were a mod band from the mid sixties, Friday on my mind was a great song of theirs. Nice to see Roy Harper..that was his last release on Harvest before being dropped by EMI...not a bad album, Short and Sweet that he co wrote with Dave Gilmour is probably my favourite track. Peter Gabriels' debut is one of my all time favourite albums. Good 'ol ' Arry!!.

Thanks Rob. I do feel The Easybeats have somehow passed me by. I've heard the name for years, but totally unfamiliar with them. I need to check them out for sure. He's a good bloke Harry! Always enjoy going to his shop.

Enjoyed seeing your footage of Chichester. Nothing nicer than record shopping on a sunny day. I have a copy of Dog Of Two Head, perhaps not as nice as the one you found!

Thanks for this! It is a lovely copy indeed. An upgrade may well turn up for you soon 🙂

Hi George, familiar territory, great record shopping. I always seem to do particularly well in Helter Skelter for some reason. Zep3 was also my first intro into Roy Harper and I have Unknown Soldier. Early Quo great stuff. Love Gabriel, Melt is my favourite. Thanks for sharing! Mike

Cheers Mike. Helter Skelter has been a very regular for the last 15 odd years now for me. I never come away empty handed. Got even better when Time Machine appeared. Late to the party really with the PG stuff, but better late than never!

The Easybeats big hit song in the UK was Friday On My Mind - this song is my favourite on Bowie's covers album Pinups. The quarterly record fair in Chichester is worth a visit - different vendors to those at the Soton fair - and is usually busy with a v.good selection of vinyl.

Hi Richard, hope you are well! I have Pin-Ups, but have not given it the attention it possibly deserves. Will have to give it a re-visit.

I heard a story that the Gillan album was so successful that it bankrupted that Acrobat label. They signed with Virgin soon afterwards.

I seem to remember a Deep Purple documentary way back mentioning this fact!
