Your videos are always informative and fair. The Bognor shop looks like a winner, will give that a spin...

Great haul! Good to see ya as always. As an aside, I can't imagine how cool it would be to hop on a train and be able to go (almost) anywhere!
@georgeprior-vinylshowtell49348 ай бұрын
Many thanks! There are limits with distance on trains, it's very expensive in the UK. Fortunately, these shops were not too far away.

Love how your videos show you out and about! Great for overseas viewers like myself(I’m in Australia) seeing the towns of England. It’s like a travel/record show. Two of my favourite pastimes.

First-time viewer on your channel George, but not the last! Very knowledgeable and very natural presentation. Excellent, thoroughly enjoyed it. My picks would be Pentangle and Beta Band. both are terrific albums and I only have them on CD. Pentangle is a band I really want to start seeing and buying their vinyl! Sally Free and Easy and No Love is Sorrow from Solomon's Seal are two of my favourite tunes by them. I only have one at the minute, 1971's Reflection. I love the album, but it's a worn copy, and it wasn't cheap. I live in France now, and they tend to overprice their 2nd hand records sadly. And they don't do negotiating either. Even 2nd handbook shops think that anything on vinyl is worth a fortune, the joys of picking up bargains in the back of a dusty charity shop seem to have passed for me. I was living in Glasgow when the Beta Band broke through, and, I'd say the Eps which is superb, and Hot Shots 2 are the best ones. If you don't know it, I think you'll love it! Anyway, sorry for blethering on! Top work fella.

Strikes is wonderful, only found it recently despite going to Bognor for years. Not so easy on public transport but Harbour records in Emsworth is superb. Bronco sound interesting, I saw Robbie Blunt with Robert Plant in '83.

Some fabulous pick ups George. Comes a Time has some great songs, Look Out For My Love is probably my favourite.snap!..i've just picked up that same issue of Pet Sounds, i paid more than you did, so you got a great deal. Solomons' Seal is terrific, i spent years finding a decent affordable copy of that Love Willy O Winsbury. Sounds like you had a great day out. All the best Rob .

Thanks Rob. Yes, a great day out was had! I though that Pet Sounds was cheap. And really not an issue you see around.

I do love footage of other record stores and also the surrounding towns. I am a traveler so it takes care of a travel itch. I do a lot of record store tours. Music can be a problem but they never give me a strike, they just say I can’t monetize the video. You can go into YT studio and put some of their music over the video in the store and then you have no worries. Loved seeing the train stations a Dan the towns you visited. Thanks for taking g us along for the ride

Hi George, this video just popped up on my feed - really enjoyed it. What a great selection of finds! Nice to see the Pentangle. First heard it back when I was a teen and I got it out of the local library, but it took me until relatively recently to find a copy. The live Cream album was the first by them that I ever bought back in the late 70s. The Bronco album I had a chance to buy a while back but for some inexplicable reason didn't (idiotic decision). The Sunflower Blues Band I've known of, but I don't think I've ever seen a copy out in the wild. Excellent video sir, will be checking out more. Cheers...Pete

Hey! Nice to see you like Bronco. Smoking Mixture is probably the most country sounding of their three albums, and that's okay with me. I still need to find their second album. I love that period in the early 70s when UK bands started messing about with rootsy country music, yet they all managed to sound totally different from what was coming out of the US. Cochise, Brinsley Schwarz, Help Yourself, Meal Ticket, Holy Mackerel and Unicorn all produced some great takes on country rock. Cheers - Hedley

The excellent Jess Roden was the vocalist for Bronco amd preciously vocals on The Butts Band album who were in fact The Doors less Jim Morrison.Jess made some pretty good solo albums also.

Straikes Vinyl Records shop looks impressive - well stocked and neat and tidy sleeved vinyl in the display stands. Not filed by genre though - that is unusual. My thought is its not an ideal arrangement. Hum, makes me think of doing a video of my ideas of do's and dont's for selling records! Good pickups from the shops, George. I need to check out that The Pentangle album.
@georgeprior-vinylshowtell49348 ай бұрын
Thanks Richard. Straikes strategy was odd, at least all alphabetical though and followed a logical route that kind of 'snaked' around the whole shop. Very spacious and modern, so going through every single album in there was good at least!

Hi, no fairs due at present to be honest. I do not aim to be crate digging for the next couple of months due to finances, time, etc.

Thanks for sharing your crate digging George. I marvel as well when I find a perfectly preserved album thats over 40 plus years old. Survived the years. That Neil Young is good, but " Pet Sounds " in my opinion is overated. Whenever I hear Driscoll/Auger- " This Wheels On Fire " I think of Absolutely Fabulous T.V series. Cool local record shops, but nobody about?.

Hey George! Iv just picked up a first press of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘then play on’ as well this week 😅 Been after one forever but trying to find copy that hasn’t been overpriced and is at least VG+ is extremely difficult. You say you didn’t video inside the shop because of the music playing! I don’t know what software/app you use to make your videos but why not just mute the video? That’s what I do and there’s no harm done 👍
@georgeprior-vinylshowtell49348 ай бұрын
Hi Martyn, good call on Then Play On! Great album isn't it. I still need Blue Horizon issues of the others - re-issue only at present for me. I should have just muted the sound for that first shop, I'm sure the feature is on the software. Something to bear in mind for other vids. Take care 🙂

Bognor is a sad state - visited few years back having been there lots of times as a kid - very sad to see it as it is. Littlehampton is even worse.
@georgeprior-vinylshowtell49345 ай бұрын
Sad to hear. I did not see much of Bognor, as the shop was so close to the station. Could not comment really and would not pass judgement on this channel regardless of my thoughts. Seems a lot of UK towns are underfunded causing decline in so many areas. Keep shopping small and local, always a help I'm sure!

There used to be a shop called rock records in bognor owned by an eccentric Irish bloke called Colm, was a brilliant crate diggers heaven especially for 45s.... got some rare uk beat and even freakbeat from there for literal quids not best condition but a few were 50 quid plus at the time. As for Pet Sounds sloop john B ruins the flow of the album totally.

Reference copyright content matching concerns; why not take your footage, mute the audio, and replace with some nondescript backing track from the KZbin audio library and a personal commentary?!!

Hi, in hindsight this some I should have considered.
