It's so great to have a balcony during quarantine! The hotel I stayed only had a window on the wall and there's a big spider onside had its web fully covered the window. The spider worked really hard repairing the web everyday so I didn't break it and could only open a little bit. The good thing is my window faced to a driving test spot. Those examinees came with families. If someone passes the test, the family will light firecrackers to celebrate (or maybe it's only a tradition in Tianjin), if someone fails, it's easy to see from his/her sad face. So my entertainment that time was leaning on the wall and seeing through the window😄

So from her perspective 100+ cases in one city is a disaster....certainly nothing to boast about what a great thing the Government is achieving.
@ckpeng603 жыл бұрын
@@Phil-kb8ql Actually, the Chinese government has done a remarkable job of controlling COVID-19. Of course, Australia is considered one of the best countries of the western world, in terms of controlling the pandemic, however, it pales in comparison with China. On June 21, there were 25 new cases in Australia, over the past 30 days, 300+ new cases; while over the same one month period, Guangdong has less than 200 cases (which was called "spike" in the video). When taking into account that Guangdong has 4.6 times Australia's population (not to mention the huge difference in density), Australia has 7 times more cases per capita than Guangdong. Considering the efforts that the Chinese people have put into it, I think they deserve to be proud of their government.

Amy, while you're in Heshan, I'd recommend you check out the dim sum at the Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of Wenhua Hotel before you leave for your next China destination. It's always crowded so try be an early bird or else queue for a table. The food served is as good as any offered in Shunde. A must try is the steamed chicken with glutinous rice (aka lo mai kei) & spare ribs. They offer a wide variety of fine Cantonese cuisine from their menu if you're not alone. A lot of the ingredients used are either reared/grown at a farm owned by the boss of the establishment who is a serious gourmand & have most his meals daily there so you can be assured of the highest quality Cantonese cuisine from the kitchen. Should you visit Shunde, the townships worth spending time would be Leilu (famed for exporting the finest Cantonese chefs worldwide) and Lecong. The Shunde town nearest to Heshan is Longjiang where you can enjoy their famed roast pork. In Lecong (about 30 mins drive from Heshan via the expressway), try visit the Chinese restaurant at the Hotel Fortuna which served probably the best dim sum in town. The service & the food served would be worth the hassle. (If you're into cars, the hotel car park always has a very fancy collection during morning breakfast). The water used to brew tea at the Fortuna is also really good if you're a Chinese tea officionado. The dim sum & Cantonese cuisine in general served at that Heshan eatery and in Shunde are of a standard generally superior to that in Guangzhou & HK but comparatively less expensive. Cantonese cuisine is one of China's major culinary cuisines & you're closest to the centre of it all. Hope you can get to sample the finest Yue cuisine without spending a small fortune on lesser offerings elsewhere in China, etc. Lastly, while in Shunde you have to check out their steamed fish specifically their wan yu (aka grass carp) as they've perfected the preparation of that dish into a fine art, assuming you're into feasting on fish. An incomparable culinary experience to behold. Backgrounder, I've lived in Shunde or Lecong specifically for 6+ years but thx to the pandemic I've not been back for the past year & a half. So have fun back in China.

Why are sod vloggers allowed in china but not international students ? Trying to make the Chinese situation look good even though they are far behind other countries in terms of border opening ?
@jdjssd.n.jsjssjs89513 жыл бұрын
@@MrRassoudok . Individual blogger has a better chance of getting in China if he comes from a country that has low infections like Australia or New Zealand and even that, he has to be quarantined even though he has been vaccinated. International students are different because they will be studying in and mixing with thousand of students. China is still not ready to open it's Universities to overseas student yet as in most countries the pandemic is still raging. So as not to be seen to be picky, China stop all students who left before the lockdown from coming back until the situations stabilise. Those who did not leave are allowed to continue. The main reason is that there are a lot of imported cases. Many countries also practice be the same thing like Australia and Singapore.
@MrRassoudok3 жыл бұрын
@@jdjssd.n.jsjssjs8951 Your first argument is flawed cause if a vlogger can go to China because Australi has the situation udner control then why can't students from australia go to China too ? Also, students don't ask to be exempted of quarantine with vaccine, I don't know where you got the contrary information. Second argument is false too because this vlogger will mix with a lot of people too by going in crowded streets and subways for vlogging she will not stay at home. Third argument is also wrong because china proved they can be picky as they allow south korean and NYU students so they can actually decide to open to countries with lower infection rates. Finally, students went back home before the pandemic to see their family during holiday, not to flee the pandemic, it's stupid to think that because they would have had to go back to China at the end of the holiday anyway so it makes non sense to think. Also, most international students stuck outside China right now have enrolled after the pandemic. Do you actually have any solid argument or you're just trying to be a fanboy ? Don't be binary man, it's not praise or hate China like a fanatic, you can also develop a critical spirit about things.

Really love Amy’s positivity. It did infect me during watching the whole video, with a big smile.😃🥰 I guess luck favors positive people more. Hope you enjoy your staying in Guangdong. The local outbreak seems to get to the end, which means you are able to travel nationwide very soon. Can’t wait to see more of your adventures ahead. Jiayou, Amy.

Hi Amy, loved the video. It was really interesting to see what kind of experience you had to go through when going to China in this unlucky period :) I was curios about how you managed to return to China since there are a lot of restrictions and seems like the only way you can enter the country is either be a Chinese citizen or have a special special work motivation. Thanks in advance!

@@gnak2 actually the 14 days is just standard quarantine times, and only allow you to move in GuangZhou, if you want go outside, that is another 7 days.

Welcome back, I just got back too, for me in the South it is 14 days hotel quarantine, 7 days home quarantine. The hotel for me isn't that bad, 297rmb per day, meals are meh, a blood and PCR test every 3 days, and also temperature checks twice every day. Wai Mai is available at my hotel too, some hotels don't accept it. You are so lucky, I landed in Xiamen and everything was in Chinese, all the paperwork, everything, luckily for me I can speak the lingo, bad luck for those that don't. Very surprised that the hotel didn't provide even breakfast for you. Anyways good luck, I have 9 days left lol.

I am so happy to see so much improvement my government had managed. Last time I went home, my passport was lost by the staff at one checkpoint. As a result I was put in the waiting area for I can't remember how long…finally they found my passport but more waiting after that and I had to rescued by a CDC officer because I spent too long in the waiting area which may be hazardous. All I can remember is my flight landed at around 9:30 and I got to the quarantine hotel at around 3:45 in the morning the day after. It was a nightmare…

THANK YOU for this video!! I'm moving to Zhuhai for a year in about a month, so an insight into the quarantine procedures is very useful. If you ever want a base there and to chat to a fellow Chinese learner, just message!! Watching this I'm so excited to get back as well.
