I love seasonal fun pencils...lol. I loved the triangle pencils that were different colors when you sharpened it when I was a kid. I don't think you can get them anymore.

Oh my goodness yes. Becca, I just started homeschooling earlier this year and I'm learning those lessons about planning too far ahead. I AM now planning in pencil!, I had the erasable pen but it looks messy when you erase. I did some things right by leaving days and dates open, but I threw a wrench in my whole plan when I decided to do a writers workshop. Creative writing takes time so some of our less important or loop schedule subjects have to be pushed back untill we are done. ...I'm learning. I'm just fixing it the best I can and leaving the next nine weeks open. I've also noticed my child is ready to move on to a new unit or theme after about 5 weeks, but the curriculum is designed for 9. For example, 5 weeks of the colonial era,....after we had our read aloud finished ("blood on the River; Jamestown 1607" by Elisa Carbone.). She loved it, but she is now ready to move on to something else. So maybe some of that curriculum won't get used.

I love your videos! Will you be doing a new video for the 20-21 school year? I have always wanted to school the Charlotte mason way, but have always felt I never understood it enough or would fail my child. He’s a 5th grader now and I did it again this year and ordered a boxed curr. And am now regretting it. 😞 Is it too late to start this CM philosophy?
