Hej, you are looking more rested and relaxed Malin. When there is "a good' summer" in Sweden it's simply the best,especially by the water. Those seat covers are lovely. Glad that you will finally getting prescribed hormones!! My Dr was very reluctant to start me on it( I was 50 at the time). I had to beg for a hormone blood test and it showed very low levels. I felt like my normal happy energetic self only a few days later once i started.I am sure you will feel so much better. Best of luck! Fingers crossed that all your results are coming back 100% cancer free! Kramar till familjen. xx

Fingers crossed the tumour margins are clear; I’m sure they will be. I used to work with cancer patients who went from premenopausal to post menopausal super quickly and I always counselled them about the symptoms and to speak up. You should start to feel better with the oestrogen patches. Great to see you doing so well Malin!! 🤗😘

It's Friday here in the States, and thinking about you all. I've been watching your journey for the past few months and really feel for you as such a young couple with young children trying to move through a terrible period in your lives. I'm hopeful that only the best news is on the horizon and that you can achieve a return to some normalcy soon. I've been on HRT about 5 weeks? Due to natural menopause (my age!) but oh my gosh - what a difference. I feel human again. I swear I can concentrate better and for longer, like I used to, premenopause. It's sorted out so much for me and so quickly. This effects 50% of the population...

Wow Malin, you look amazingly great sweetie. Tom, you as well. You both look refreshed and a lot less stressed. Praising God right now. Your recovery time was really short compared to a couple of other 29-30 yr old ladies that went thru the same somewhat colorectal Ca surgery. I have faith that you’ve beat this demon Ca. I truly believe that you and Tom will be getting great news Friday. Prayers sweeties. Go, enjoy the beautiful weather and have some much deserved fun.

Hurrah, fabulous you’re doing well but please pace yourself sensibly!! Don’t know if you’ve had the bottom end removed or left in place. It’s an easier recovery if you haven’t, but please take it easy. Fingers crossed for good news at your next step, it is what it is. ❤ Also be prepared for v odd thought patterns when they give you the all clear. It’s odd but it happens.

I so agree about your comments about women's health. My husband and I have seen this with me too. My female doctors have talked to me about it also. Even the research for women's health is so much less. So little is known and we are so often dismissed. Speedy health to you

Hi both. You can get bio-identical hormones, I take them and they are great and no side effects.

I‘m a little bit curious about the hormone problems. That’s a common problem in patients after chemotherapy/radiotherapy. In Germany it should be standard that you go to an endocrinologist following the therapy and get your hormone levels checked. Often it’s not only the female hormones, but also the thyroid hormone levels and cortisol as well. That should be checked regularly. Is that not a thing in Sweden? The gynecologist can only help with the female hormones but not more. Hope you find a good doctor for that. Otherwise, Malin, you lose a lot of life quality and you don’t need to. I must say I‘m really happy seeing you enjoying the sunny weather a bit. You deserve it so much. Nice greetings from Germany🙋🏼‍♀️. PS: Love that the parents help with the van. My van gives me a lot freedom and positive vibes. It will help you a lot to recover.

Happy to see your progress, Malin. Such a tough thing to have to go through for anyone, but particularly challenging as a young woman, a mum and a partner. I hope things turn out well next week and you can enjoy your van and the Swedish countryside. My father emigrated as a child from Sunne, in varmland. I was in Sweden in 1988 (before you were born😉) and loved our experiences visiting family I’d never met, and seeing new friends in Gothenburg, karlstad/karlskoga and enkopping. Such a beautiful country. U r trying to stay so strong, but it’s okay not to be okay sometimes. Sitting with those angry, scared, or whatever feelings and just letting them have space in your body and mind is part of a healing journey. Now I sound preachy. Sorry ‘bout dat!!🙃. I work in healthcare and I get angry when I hear people being dismissed the way you have been about your hormone levels. So join me in feeling angry and hopefully others reading will create awareness and change. Take good care.

I know the young woman Tiffany on her KZbin channel tiffanythinks - her cancer was somewhat similar and she was told that she would go into menopause and she has done so. She is now looking into hormone replacement therapy. There are studies which you may also find on KZbin where doctors are finally considering nutrition in terms of treating medical issues and menopause is one that I think they feel nutrition can at least help. So you might want to research that on KZbin somewhat. I will be praying that the update you get will not give you any worries at all - you have done so well, Malin, you should be really proud of yourself and your support man Tom has really done great too. I hope you will get to enjoy that sunny weather - be a Swede, Malin! You've earned it and Tom has too.

It is shocking that no one on your medical team took your concerns about your reproductive hormones levels seriously. I know it is an issue that is horribly ignored here in Canada but had hoped medical professionals in other countries would be more responsive. I hope the patches help you feel much better so you can focus on your recovery. 🙏

Just so you know: HRT patches are often not as effective as the pills, and are quite annoying too (wash off so weaken, irritate, wrinkle, etc). If you don’t feel the benefit tell the doctors.
