Calculators weren’t required for math class until you were in high school calculus. In fact, we were told we couldn’t use them because we wouldn’t have a calculator with us at all times. 😂

Oddly I distinctly remember the smell of my lunch box. Not a bad smell- just the thermos full of soup and a balogna and cheese on white.

Mine smelled like cherries, because I had summer school once, and my mom packed cherries in there every time. I'm honestly surprised that the school playground wasn't covered in cherry trees thanks to me.

I do remember those great times back in the 1980's. Yea. no cell phones or any ipads. hell. there was not even a dial cell phone. pretty funny that you would menttion the scratch, and sni! stickers, and the sented markbers. rather awesomethings that we had. well, we did have a grose kind of glue and it was actually called paste. it smelled very weird like a glue or something like that. well it was thick, and it was paste. I don't know if you remember that, but yea. we had paste still different art projects. great times. I think that the paste was still around in the 1990's like the decade before. well, I think they got rid of it. I daven't heard about it lately. I am pretty sure that it is gone.

It had a weird smell, and also the really huge crayons. They were really thick and of course, the metal lunchboxes. I had a Garfield in OD one. metallic lunchbox
