sad that goodwill is definitely a for profit franchise. i worked there for 3 years in california. they treated their workers poorly and often worked the warehouse unpaid overtime. the CEO of goodwill is nicely sitting on piles of money while he brags that he's making jobs for others. he is sure, but not treating them appropriately or fairly. especially in the uprising of higher end goodwill stores, which sell second hand stuff for even more than it's worth. goodwill is really gentrifying the very purpose thrifting is used by poorer communities, making it harder for poorer communities to access basic necessities.
