My father was on a liberty ship in WW II in the Atlantic at age 18. I flew him from Memphis to St. Fransisco when he about 90 to see the ship and stand on her deck. I am glad this ship has been preserved.

I am from Jeremiah O'Brien's home town Machias Maine where the first battle of the American Revolution was fought.

When we bring the Jeremiah O' Brien back to Normandy, France for the 100th Memorial in 2044, she will pass by Machias, Maine, where her namesake made history. :)
