My husband’s a marine engineer. We got married 7months back and now it’s 6months that he is onboard. Goodbyes are always hard no matter what! He is signing off this 13th and I’m sure the pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting him again! And I have a huge respect to all those who stay away from home and family!

WOW, you nailed it. In this video clip, you come across as having a very high level of emotional maturity compared to people of your age. Everything you said is 100% true as I have experienced most of it in my jobs and travels as well. I really liked your statements which allude to how spirituality boosts emotional strength. I love the calm and cool manner in which you talk about and deal with stressful and unavoidable yet unpleasant situations. I think you will go far in life - literally and otherwise :)-

Back on the boat. Hope it’s a good contract. Much like I like sailing on smaller cruise ships because you can go to smaller ports, I imagine it’s the same for container ships. Those 399.9 meter monsters can only get in a few ports and they aren’t needed for the smaller spots, so it really limits your port calls. Safe sailing!

I will keep watching you and could be nice to see you one Day as a captain. Wish you all the Best and I am waiting for the next episode. I have also small request to you :) as an ex officer i've been in lot of tough navigational situations during my Carrer. Could you make some episode and share your story? congratulations on your youtube award -you really do deserve it as I love your channel and how you always explain everything which is lovely, my partner used to travel 11 hours to work in the coal mines here in nz-he would come home for a week every 6-8 weeks , I got so used to being on my own with the kids after 2 years it just becomes part of our routine in life- I do believe it can be tough for some to live like this if they are so reliate on the other one being there,-I used to put fire wood through a saw bench for the home to stock pile that when my partner would return home he had none of these jobs to do -I remember one time he came home and found I had filled our large wood shed right up with wood it was stacked to the ceiling he was amazed how much wood I had stored away for the house,I used to do the odd handy man jobs as well around our home,- I believe the best way to handle your partner away for extended periods is to keep busy,I am happy you involve your family in the channel its great to see them all ,I was really interested in your dad with his chopper that you featured at one time thank you keep safe

There are a few other tips especially for new joiners . 1. What you do with your spare time will determine how soon or late you pick up on your duties and abilities. While theoretical knowledge is good, getting a hands-on experience is never replaceable. 2. Along with the tar book ( for first timers), junior officers and engineers should also have a daily journal in which you record daily routines that you have carried out. Especially if you have faced some problems onboard, and how youve tackled them. This comes real handy, when you're preparing for exams or if there's been crew change and you happen to be the oldest hand onboard. 3. If you know about a job that's being planned the next day,( pump overhaul for eg), take time to read manuals ,estimate what tools , lifting gear etc would be needed. Imagine how you'd carry out the work, if you're doing it alone. This critical thinking will hold you in good stead with your shipmates at all times, even in senior positions. 4. Respect your rank, your work, also the work of others.Take your job seriously. If you're joining on a promotion, go through the handing over notes well in advance and thoroughly. Make notes of what you'd like to be shown, any ongoing defects, spares inventory and upcoming inspections if any. Though the list would be more comprehensive as you go up in ranks , the crux remains the same. 5. Speak up if you feel tired , fatigued or not upto mark for keeping watch. A dozing watchkeeper is worse than an absent one. Most people would accept a few more hours of duty for the safety of the vessel. 6. Never assume or guess, on ship you either know or you don't know. Ne truthful to yourself and shipmates, this will avoid accidents, breakdowns , oil spills etc.Running a ship is not rocket science ; but nothing in life actually is .....other than in NASA. 9. Read up on all conventions while onboard, almost all available. This is really helpful in exams. Bon voyage to all especially KSN

Really admire your sincerity and educational style of sharing your experience/content, and your video productions are of great quality. Congrats on getting the MacBook Pro, enjoy:). I hope it not only helps your video productions, but also provides some happiness to fill in lonely moments. You asked about what viewers may want to see in your posts on this journey, and 2 things come to mind: a) would love to know all about the ports your visiting, especially when you can get off the boat (you do that already, but maybe even more content?), and b) this will sound odd, but if I were at sea for such great lengths, I think I'd want to pick up meteorology in details, which includes the various cloud formations you see in different parts of the voyage, etc. Also, does Maersk accept paying passengers on any routes? You make me want to book a trip!:):)
